I'm really, really curious to see how he does. Obviously he'll try to keep things on the ground. But I don't think he'll win via GnP. I think he's more likely to win by guillotine or something like that. I just hope it goes beyond 1 round.

I don't think he'll win my guillotine. Mir is a black belt in BJJ and Brock only has 1-2 years of BJJ experience. There is no way Mir will be in a position to get caught like that.

did anybody see it?? Brock almost pulled out a win if he didnt' get so excited and hit the back of the head a couple times. I didnt' even think of leg locks, makes even better sense than an arm bar even though Mir was going for a couple armbars first. What a great fight. I can't wait to see what happens for both fighter next.

:owned2::owned2:I did not see the fight but I won 100 bucks predicting it to the T and taking Mir as the victor. I knew Brock was going to go for a quick takedown and use his weight as he did a little ground and pound. Mir most likely expected this and the ground is where his jiu jitsu is the most effective only Lesnars arms are way too big to bend back, but his legs are skinny. I predicted a knee bar or heel hook. :owned2:

I finally got to see this yesterday, I was disapointed really. Lesnar could have taken that fight easily, he needs to learn how to punch while on the ground. Those huge arms were useless with the short hammer fist type punches he was throwing. He could have mounted off the first take down, but looked like he went for some kind of side gaurd. Mir got lucky as shit.

Give Lesnar a little bit more time and he will be absolutely devastating. I agree that Mir got very lucky and it seemed to me that Lesnar hesitated and did not want to tap out, but only did so very reluctantly. Anyway, I'm glad I was not on the receiving end of Lesnar. I almost pity his next victim, er opponent.

The tobacco is almost falling out of his mouth.

I really don't think Mir was lucky... Yeah Brock came out and owned him on the take down... Then those hammer punches were plentiful but not crazy effective...I think he cut him with an elbow could have been the punches I couldn't tell.. DO you honestly think Mir hadn't been training his ass off to hit some knee bars and ankle locks on a dude that is that powerful up top... At that pace Brock would have been done in a round.. Give him time and a little experience and he'll be a beast.. but Give mir credit.. It was bull shit that Mir walked out first and was the challenger too... Give him some respect.. He's top notch at bjj and has a lot of experience fighting some of the best in the world...

I totally agree. I think Dana is just trying to hyp Brock up. It was definitely a slap in the face of Mir.

I just watched the fight. I agree that wasn't luck. Mir won the fight. Give him credit. But call it what you will it seems to me that part of winning is the other guy fucking up and you taking advantage of it. I don't think that is luck. But MMA has gotten so very technical and the skill level is so high that taking advatage of a little lapse of whatever kind is really what it comes down to. Being able to react to whatever momentary advantage your opponent gives you with no hesitation IS the name of the game. Lesnar got overexited. His size worked against him somewhat despite the overwhelming brute force of the take downs. Mir found the proper target and exploited it.

Yes he looked overwhelmed and he turned away and almost seemed like he was going fetal but he wasn't hurt and there was no stoppage. I guess the idea is that if it wasn't for the hitting the back of the head it would have been over but, well, he made a mistake, fair call or not. Mistakes lose fights. Mir was obvously on his game in deciding that the arm bar attempts weren't going to happen, like Dave was talking about, and so deciding of a much better target.

No doubt he will be quite a force, though. He didn't make any excuses and excepted his loss.
