Default Was last nights Kimbo fight fixed? What do you thing?

I saw the Kimbo vs Shamrock (Shamrock scratched) Silverback stepped in and knocked Kimbo the f' out in about 10 seconds. Silverback caught Kimbo w/ a right that cut Kimbo's eye and sent him down, then Silver back jumped in for a little pounding until the ref stopped it to call a knock out. WOW...

That was my initial reaction... but I was wrong yet again.... when they played the slow motion replay I noticed that Kimbo wasn't knocked out, he was just regrouping. And... granted, Silverbacks right hook caught Kimbo solid, but that flurry of punches while Kimbo was on the ground was a bunch of crap. Look closely in the slow motion... all but one or 2 missed Kimbo completely, and the 1 or 2 that made contact were as weak as they come. They were some kind of weak underhand girly punches that did nothing.

Call me crazy... but I think there's a possibility that this fight was fixed... which I wouldn't be suprised to see from CBS... and elite xc

Now... before you jump to any conclusions... make sure check out the fight in slow motion and see what I'm talking about for yourself... I promise you, you'll be shocked.

Then respond with your thoughts on what went down... I'm very curious to see what everybody else thinks.

Do you agree with me?
Or am I crazy?

Anyway... that's my 2 cents.

I missed the entire main event. I wouldn't say the fight was fixed if thats what happened, but rather a poor decision by the ref. I would expect a fixed fight from the UFC before an Elite XC fight. But thats my opinion.

There is no way that fight was fixed. Why would Elite XC, who was trying to build up Kimbo by feeding him cans and build a name for their company by using Kimbo's internet fame, fix a fight to beat him and possibly mess up the company.

Saw the fight in slow-mo and the ref did his job. When Kimbo rolled over and Seth was pounding on him, Kimbo's arms go strait, maybe not perfectly strait but he was not defending himself, also his head lays flat and goes back. Those are signs of being KOed. Not to say that after that he may have come to but the Refs job is to look for those signs and make sure the fighter is not getting killed while he is knocked out.

Definitely a weak fight, but not fixed. Slow-Mo almost looked like kimbo slipped or something, didn't see any powerful punches in that match. I think Seth got lucky but that's the nature of the beast sometimes.

It looked to me as Seth lost his footing before he hit Kimbo and recovered well. Not to happy with the outcome of the fight though.

I agree with Dave. And I think there have been these kinds of discussions before. Whether he was out or he didn't have the experience or wherewithall to look alive like he was defending himself...it doesn't matter. It ain't a street fight.

If you ain't knocked out you don't straighten your arms and lay your head back.

Yea if it was fixed, Kimbo would have won because not many people want to see him lose. And if he does lose, more people lose interest in seeing his next fight. If he wins he can fight bigger competition and bring in more viewers. Would have been the other way if it was fixed for sure.

I don't know if it was fixed either. "S" beating Kimbo kind of reminded me of the schoolyard fights I used to see when I was younger. It's true that the bigger, muscular guys usually dominate, but every once in a while, a smaller, more experienced guy would come along and fight off his larger attacker. Kimbo is big and very experienced, but this smaller Petruzzelli fellow may simply have better punches or even better neuromuscular recruitment for doing such.

It's no different than a smaller man lifting heavier weight; if his neuromuscular recruitment is better, than he WILL be stronger. Petruzelli (at least at that time) was simply the BETTER fighter.

(No disrepect to Kimbo, by the way.)
