Default Camping Food

Ok, so I'm going to go camping/hiking for three days this weekend. I need to make a food list. Any suggestions?

As of right now, here is what I have come up with:
1 frozen steak (it will thaw by dinner)
tuna pouches
clif bars
detour bars (500 calories, 55g protein, carbs are from rolled oats)
canned beans
nuts
venison jerky

I think that walmart sells some dehydrated meals in the camping section. (just add hot water) I'm going to check that out this evening...

EDIT: Why did I put this in the supplement forum? Will you move it to the nutrition forum? Thanks!

Bring some gorp or something. Nuts alone is fine if they're unsalted though I guess. Make sure you have plenty of water. How salty is that jerky?

Have fun man, it's been way too long since I had a good hike. Last peaks I hit were Lafayette and along the Franconia ridge... that was a blast.

I was N a similar situation, but was on a roadtrip. I'd say what you listed, plus oats for breakfast, powdered milk (assuming you drink milk), protein powder, some PB, sardines, dehydrated fruit, and plenty of tupperware for it all! Have fun, and tell us how it goes!!

If you're going fishing while there, you may have yourself another food source!

That's kind of what I'm planning on. If there are fish, they will be caught. I need to tie some flies before we go.

Thanks for the ideas guys. We can have fires, so I'll be able to cook some. The only real concerns are space & weight. One of the guys is my training partner and the other guy is an olympic lifter (he weighs at least 250). And there will be one girl. So we're going to have to bring 50lbs of food to feed the three of us for 3 days...

How are you on equipment? If weight is an issue, try taking things that will serve multiple purposes, like a spork instead of a spoon and fork, etc.
