Default Confused and unhappy about results

Ok, so I did what I "thought" was suppost to work...........sure enough it did, just not the way I wanted it to. Ive been tryin to gain weight forever, after some research and talkin to some people on diffrent sites I understood that I just needed to really up my cal intake! I did just that...........mind you I wasn't eatin the cleanest meals and had my share of cheeseburgers and other fatty foods, but it was to my understanding that since i was a very skinny guy 5'9 125lbs to start I just needed to eat more period! It didnt really matter what as long as I was eating more! I worked out just as before 3 days a week and did notice some strength gain however not as much as I would have liked to see for having gained 15lbs. Now that I look at a before pic and this after pic I realize.........i got more fat then anything else!!! What exactly did I do wrong here???

PS I wish I could show yous the pic but its on my phone and I dont konw how to upload

right there is what you did wrong, this approach works, but only if you are willing to cut up hard later on, its whats known as a "dirty bulk". I'm not a fan personally, if you want to get bigger but not fatter you really need to watch your cal intake, adjust slowly as you gain, and eat good clean foods.

Try out fitday.com It helps you balance out your meals, and protein/carb/fat(healthy fats) out, to optimize results. If you were led to believe that you should eat a certain amount of 'fat' per day, you may have misunderstood. The fats you want to eat are not in burgers/junk food, but in foods like nuts, avocados, fish, fish oils, flaxseed, to name a few. That, and what type of exercises were you doing? That makes a huge difference. Hope that helps. Good luck!

there are foods you can eat that can up your cals without getting you super fat. cut out the fast foods/burgers/ pizza whatever. stick to baked chicken, steaks, lamb, roast beef, etc. make sure you eat vegetables. like they said use fitday to plug in your food so you can get an idea of the stats of your food. make sur eyou are eating clean foods. you dont need to eat burgers and things of that nature to up your cals. olive oil has a lot of fat and cals in it. but its healthy. make sure you look up what you eat so you can have an idea of what you need
