They're not really lying. It's half and half like table sugar. At least on average from what I've read.

HFCS can be up to to 55% fructose and 45% glucose. But not all of them has the same exact amount.

Table sugar (sucrose) is 50% fructose and 50% glucose but they are in the form of a dissacharide (linked together).

Nutritionally...there is not going to be much difference. Too much of either on is the same thing.

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.

Funny...I was just reading up on the same thing today. I was looking at the link Pity just posted & I found the info that Eric mentioned. Weird.

It was hypothesized that it would be turned into fat tissue more easily by the liver, I believe....or something along those lines.

Yeah, I have read hypothesis about the obesity trend in the US being linked pretty directly to the rise in use of HFCS. Might be conspiracy theories, but I try to avoid the stuff like the plague!

Yeah. It's just that there is probably not much difference between the HFCS and sucrose. And sucrose itself is a "relatively new" thing...having that much processed sugar available.

Here is hrdgain's thread which has a bunch of info on this in it:

http://www.bodybuilding.net/nutritio...ned-1413.html?

Not to get away from the point. You gotta limit this stuff, of course. The whole discussion is really about whether HFCS deserves to be treated as "worse" than plain old table sugar. The only reason they use HFCS is it's cheaper than sugar.
