It depends on how many digestive enzymes are present, if you're eating protein with other food, and the type of protein. If you took some digestive enzymes, then I would think you could probably digest 20-30g, but I'm not sure.

It's the same with egg or meat protein. It's all pretty relative to the individual and the circumstances.

Does it matter?

If you are a bodybuilding or a strength trainee and are not into intermittent fasting then you will probably ALWAYS be in a "postabsorptive" state.

In the order of things to worry about it doesn't rank too high:

1021: How much protein can my body absorb in an hour?
