Default Protein shakes

I am wondering if its ok to blend my shake first before my workout so I can use the blender at home because when i just bring the mix in the shaker and add water the maltodex just goes all lumpy like marshmallow and its gross drinking it straight after a w/out.

If it is ok to mix it first what is the lifespan while in liquid form.

Any ideas.

well, Im going to give you no good answer. try it out, see if it keeps its mix, or if it falls/unmixes over the time of your workout.

I do not think there is a lifespan of protein in liquid. They do make RTD's, ready to drinks, and they have a shelflife of 1yr or so.

I would say, just try to work your muscles more with the shaker cup, or get a good shaker. Shake that thing up. I have the Bulk Nutrition shakers, 5 or 6 of um, They work real well. Sometimes my oats will settle after a minute or so, so Ill just stir it around.

I think it would also be easier to keep it as adding water afterwards so you dont spill and make a mess. If the spout comes off, It wouldnt be fun.

If u are going to blend it right before going to the gym it wont cause any problems. Keeping it mixed in room temperature for more than few hours can cause unwanted growth of bacteria or anything of that sort.

Your probably ok if it unmixes a bit you can always just down it anyway or bring spoon or something and right before you drink give it a quick stir.

I had the same problem (VP2, Carbomax mix). Put the protein and malto powder in the container and just before you add water to it, shake the hell out of it mixing the powders. This will break up the malto some and prevent that clumping effect it has.

Shaker cups rule. And they are pretty cheap.

Even if I blend my shkes, I put them into a shaker bottle (cup, whatever). That way if anything settles, you can "shake" it up right there. No worries about having a spoon.

Sometimes, if I'm not coming right home from the gym, I'll throw a scoop of protein in a shaker before I leave the house. When I'm done working out, I just take some water from the fountain and have my cocktail right there.

Should mix fine in a shaker bottle. I mix mine before workout and leave it in my car. I come back out and give it a quick shake and I'm good to go but you need to shake it before hand and just don't let the ingrediants float until after your workout or they may clump.

I don't get it!

Are shakes that need blenders better in quality than the ones that you just add water and mix.

I have had the chance to try both, and I bought a blender just that. I sucked. I had to wash the stupid blender like three times a day and dismetle and put it all together.

Now what I have are just a couple of cheap ass plastic bottles from Walmart. Rinse'm up, with some soup and hot water and you are set to go.

I have to admit I love milk shakes better that water ones, it is a little more nutrisious, best with fat free.

Theres no difference from blended to stirred. stirred maybe more chunky though. Yea milk is better IMO.
