Default Oatmeal in protein drink

Hi,

I've read some posts in the past where some people say they put oatmeal in their protein drink. Does anyone recommend this?

For those who do, do you put uncooked or cooked oatmeal in your protein drink?

Do you put it in your pre-workout drink and/or post workout protein drink or also your inbetween breakfast-lunch drink and lunch-dinner drink?

Do you also put the dextrose and maltodextrin in your drink along with the oatmeal?

Thanks.

I do that for a first meal of the day shake on the days where I either don't have time to cook my usual first meal or if I would just rather drink my food than eat it.

I use PP, raw oats, and usually some berries as a first meal shake.

If it's a pre-w/o shake, just the PP and raw oats.

I do the raw oatmeal + chocolate whey + PB + milk in the blender in the mornings also.

You can do oatmeal + whey pre workout. But you'll want to do high GI carbs in your post drink.

Those are normally the only two shakes that I do. You could add the oatmeal in any other time though.

I do 1 cup rolled/steel cut oats in a coffee grinder +16oz milk/water + 1-1.5 scoops of whey for the last couple years and highly recommend it.

I used to throw oats in my shake, but I enjoy eating them cooked more. If your going to do this, just make sure that your not doing it for you post workout shake.

I eat them in my PWO shake as well. But I'm also a believer that if your preworkout nutrition is in order and you're not lifting for 3 hours taking down 60grams of sugar PWO isn't necessary

I drink a shake right when I wake up because I usually don't have time to eat breakfast. I take 2 scoops of whey, 1/2c of grinded oats, some berries or banana, and if I'm feeling squirrelly some peanut butter.

My 4-serving shake consists of 2 school-size cartons of 2% milk, 4 oranges, 4 scoops of Protein powder, 4 TBSPs of flaxseed, 1/3 cup of fat-free low-sugar yogurt, a cup of oatmeal, and about 2 TBSPs or Peanut butter. Does this seem OK to you guys? I am trying to eat sufficiently, and as healthy as possible.
