Default Pork Roll

Is this like the tastiest food anywhere?

Who here has had this wonderful meat?

I think it is only sold here in New Jersey and some parts near NYC. And maybe in some places in Florida.

Best brand by far is Taylor (based in Trenton, NJ), thus, sometimes it is called Taylor Ham.

Sooo tasty, but sooo bad for you!

We have a deli here that makes killer sandwiches. One of their claims to fame is a "Slider": Pork roll, egg and cheese. They are massive. They put, like, a 1/2# of meat on the thing, a couple of eggs and I don't even know how much cheese.

One day my buddy and I go in there for breakfast. I order just a regular 'ol Taylor Ham sandwich w/ mustard. He orders up TWO sliders! The owner asks where the third person is. My friend says they are both for him. The owner refused to make him two. My friend was adamant he could eat them both as he was very hungry (a side note: Gary--my friend--is one of those Ed Norton types, who can eat and eat and eat and stay skinny; I've seen him out eat guys on 5000 calorie diets)

Anyway, the owner and Gary go back and forth for a bit, then they struck a deal: The owner would make him one. If he finished it and wanted another, he would then cook it up. AND, if Gary ate both sandwiches right there, they were free.

Gary ate the first one and pulled a Roberto Duran: "No mas." These sandwiches are BIG!

You're looking at probably a pound of meat, 4 or 5 eggs and a quarter pound of cheese on two rolls.
