Default Potatoes

Ok, looking for someone to dispell a myth, I was told not to eat baked potatoes......something to do with the starch and the sugars changing during cooking (the exact details elude me at the moment), I was told to boil them wich I have been doing but it is much more time consuming. Any help would be much appreciated..........BTW boiled potatoes are pretty damn tastey.
