Default Pre/Post protein drink when doing cardio

H,

I understand the importance of the pre/post protein drink for lifting. But, what about when doing cardio? Should I also do the pre/post drinks when I jog?

Thanks.

This is going to depend on your reasons for doing cardio Riley. If your doing it solely for fatloss, i would use something along the lines of a bcaa drink for pre and post. But if your cardio sessions are mainly for endurance training, you want to have fast acting carbs before and durring and after, plus a good protien shake post as well.

I started walking and then jogging only for fat loss however now that I've been able to jog more I'm getting interested in increasing my endurance and seeing how much I can increase the speed and the distance. My main goal is still fat loss however I would enjoy being able to jog faster and longer distances.

^^ what he said.

Also, if you ever do anything like HIIT, which can be more taxing on the muscles than an SS session (like a jog), the pre/post nutrition should be fairly similar to that of lifting sessions.

Thanks everyone for the help. I read up on the HIIT training and I'm not ready for that. I'm going to stick with just regular jogging until I'm in much better shape. I would surely want to get checked out first before doing anything like that.

This website is awesome and I owe everyone a big thanks for spending their time to help me and provide all the expert information and recommendations.
