Exclamation problems with bulking

hey, im fairly new to bodybuilding but ive read around the subject a lot and i dont see why i cant bulk up and yes i have read the sticky!
anyway, im 16, go to college and keeping strict diets is really hard seeing as my parents still provide me food and although i eat loads of food in the meals that i have i still ahavent gained weight in the last 9 weeks. i dont use protein shakes because i thought i would have a good protein income from all the meat i eat but perhaps im not growing because i dont get enoguh protein? if anyone can give me tips on how to deal with this and if i need extra protein etc, then i would be very greatful.

what does you diet look like and what does you workout look like... And don't just put for diet.. "Oh I eat losts of chicken and beef with vegs." or "I do legs on tuesday and back and chest on so and so."

Give us exactly what you do sets and reps and what you are eating, size and calories.

If you don't know than that is the first problem you have to address besides starting to cook for yourself.

There isnt a strict meal plan that i follow as my parents make whatever they want to, however most of my meals have either rice or bread with chicken or some other meat, sometimes fish, and plenty of vegetables. im not sure if i just answered the way you said not to :S

anwyay, my routine is the DFT 5x5

as for calories ive got no idea seeing as i eat something different all the time, and how am i meant to count the calories in a meal when its home made? sorry if im being frustrating but im new to this

Go to fitday.com. Sign up. Log your diet every day for a week. That will give you a good idea as to how many calories you're taking in every day.

Fitday opened my eyes... I've been using it for a few months now... and I love it.

Recently, I even took it a step further. I created a spreadsheet in excel that lists by date my:

Weight
Body Measurements (waist, neck, bi, chest, quads)
Calorie intake for the day (#s taken from fitday)
Protein intake for the day (#s taken from fitday)
Fat intake for the day (#s taken from fitday)
Carb intake for the day (#s taken from fitday)
Cardio I did that day
MMA Training I did that day
Weighttraining I did that day, (exercise, weight & reps)

Every 2 weeks, I determine what my average macro breakdown was for that 14day period, then input that info, along with any cheat days(diet) or time taken off for injury, etc.

Over time, I can look back and see my macronutrient breakdown and how it affected my performance in the gym. If I'm not happy with my gains... this spreadsheet will tell me what I need to change.

OK... I'm a bit O.C.D. But it's pretty f'n cool to see your results on paper... it motivates the hell out of me... or kicks me in the ass if I need it.

Anyway... that's my 2cents.

Well at 16 your probably just hitting the bulk up age so be patient. Eating alot doesn't mean eating a huge breakfast lunch and supper. You have to eat more often to keep the nutrients coming all day. Alot of guys eat about 6 meals a day. IMO a 5x5 is probably a good choice so just eat, eat, lift, eat rinse and repeat. Thats just my two cents though.
