The thing about pasta is it needs gluten to hold together and have a good texture.

I eat soy products but the soy pasta I tried a while back tasted bad, fell apart, and had a horrible texture.

The brand mentioned above sounds better than what I tried, though. At least it has some gluten in it.

Most of the studies I have read regarding soy and estrogen show no such effect or a small effect, but these usually involve soy supplements (like large amounts of soy protein powder).

I've also heard of problems with vegetarian bodybuilders who include a lot of soy products in their diet and then add soy protein powders on top of that.

Too much of anything is not a good thing, and plants contain many powerful substances. But the thing is, we wouldn't usually eat so much of one type of plant product. Soy is unique in that regard.

The phyto-estrogens are fairly weak from what I've read and there is even some evidence that these weak estrogens might bind to receptor sites, thus blocking the activity of body estrogens. So in moderate amounts, soy might be good for bodybuilding.

I wouldn't use soy protein powders, but I doubt there is any real problem with including soy products in your overall diet.

Hrdgain, if you find that link I'd like to know.
