Default Sport Nutritionist??

I was just wondering, has anyone ever gone to see a sport nutritionist for the purpose of developping a weight gaining diet pertaining to you're needs?

I recently spoke to one of the most jacked guys at the gym i go to, and he says that he spends around 2000$ a year getting referalls from his nutritionist on what to eat, how to eat it strategically, and informed me that having the knowledge of a nutritionist will help with you're overall gains as they design a program tailored specifically for you.

Any thoughts on this and if it is a smart route to take consdering proper and adequate nutrition is the most important thing in the muscle building world?

Sports nutritionists are a waste of your hard earned cash. That's close to $200 a month, which is better spent on other things. He'll that's about what I pay for 4-6 months worth of supps.

Add that $200 into your monthly supps and food bill and see if that sounds like a good deal.

Very true, but i mean the thought of knowing that you're diet will WORK and is GUARANTEED is very intriguing.. I mean you leave a deposit, but after the diet expires if the results dont prove to be what was originally intened you dont have to pay the full amount..

It's like people who self diagnose vs. the ones who listen to the person who went to school for it? Go with your gut and give it a shot. I have seen so many people who "Know everything" in the gym look the same and use the same weights year after year.

This is a learning game for all of us. You can literally make some unbelievable gains in a few short months. If within 2-3 months you see that what you are doing isn't giving you the desired results change it up. It's also what makes this interesting. Even a nutritionist is not going to give you information that isn't available to you for free online by doing a little reseach. I still wouldn't spend the money. But that's just me. You gotta do what makes you happy. And ask yourself this, is the guy you asked one of the most jacked guys in the gym simply from his workout and nutritional program, or are there other factors involved?

And what Marinevet is saying is true. I have mentioned this before. There are guys that go to the gym year after year and seem to know everything, but their appearance never changes.

If you didn’t get the time you were after, chances are your pre-race and race nutrition played a big part in that..

It doesn't matter if you have a nutritionist or not, nothing is going to be for sure unless you work hard. I would recommend that you just get your own diet and follow that. No need to go spend $2000 on a diet.

I am a sports nutritionist but you can learn just as much good info from good articles on the net... MOST nutritionists aren't that smart to be honest.

$2000? Yeah, that's just a little bit too much for me.
