Angry Stomach Cramps ??

Has anyone had stomach cramps before when they have been new to the High protein diet . ? not sure if it was the dose of protein that I had after training or weather it was just an upset stomach .

I have never experenced this before untill last night when I went to bed . felt funny like the there was a large meal or stone sitting that would not go down and then it was waves of a mild cramping sensation as though a invisable hand was on the inside of my stomach felt a quit sick thought that I was going to be looking down the white pan but managed to avoid that . with an anti sick pill .
Still feel a bit funny this morning but its on its way out slowly whatever it was .

Anyone else had this experence when they have been new to the high protein diet ??

Thanks Eastwater

Default cramps

Hi there feeling better now the day has worn on . It was a different shake that I got out of a can it was at my local gym had not tried that range before must say the sake tasted really shit but got it all downas it had 35g of protein in it so down it went .

. later on in the eve was feeling a peckish and then had some chicken ticker bites of chicken . Its well possible that the shake just disargeed with me and or the chicken . I dont think I will try particular brand of shake again it was quite unplesent .

With the other shakes that I use have not had any problems with them but will make sure that I drink plenty with them and after

Many thanks

yeah its a possibilty that it was just the shake. because i can remember my stomach acting different to certain types of shakes. it didnt hurt but i definatly fely a difference. so just switch up the shake and you should be cool. make sure you post how everything turns out

It's quite possilbe if you had it directly after training and it was just too much (and too thick...not enough water or dilution) that was the main culprit. Sometimes cheap whey concentrates can disagree with people (lactose intolerant?) especially if they aren't mixed with enough water or something. But right after you workout something too heavy in the stomach can sometimes cause this. All the blood you need for digestion isn't there. Like Monta said, the trick is lots of water.

But I've had episodes just from my regular tried and true post workout shake for whtever reason. Sometimes it's just a bad day

I've had problems with those pre-mixed protein shakes. A lot of times, it just doesn't sit right for a while. So I just try to never use them.

That sucks! I'm having the exact same problem.

A little while after my shake here come the cramps. They really do hurt. I've been drinking AES from Costco. Not the best I know, but its cheap. I had been drinking it for a while no problems then I stopped, now I'm back on and I've been having stomach pains. Weird!

It doesn't seem to matter if it is pre-workout or post, morning or evening, with food or without, milk or water. it's all the same result. So bottom line I think I'm going to lay off it, and find something else. I was actually seeing pretty good gains with out it by simply eating a lot of high protein food.
