Default PWO Caffeine - Your thoughts

I just read this article:
http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/113495.php

And then read this synopsis of the data from the study:
http://jap.physiology.org/cgi/conten...t/01121.2007v1

I'm thinking about adding caffeine to my PWO supps...especially on leg day. I can't wait for them to repeat the study with a reasonable amount of caffeine. 8mg per kg of bodyweight is a LOT. Most of the data they present is at a pretty high significance level. I didn't realize the study was done several months ago until I checked the dates.

Does anybody else have an opinion about this?

Interesting. I had heard that caffeine makes blood vessels vasoconstrict. Oh, these medical studies with their varying results. It is worth looking into, I think. I add in some gingseng tea to my PWO stack-since it is high in glucose-which is a carrier substance for creatine-another component of my PWO stack. I have a water bottle that I carry around EVERYWHERE!!! I throw in 2 black tea tea bags. Good source of antioxidants.

That is pretty interesting, but it doesnt mean much for me. Since I lift at night, if I was to do that I'd be up till the next morning.

I'd like to know why this would happen, perhaps because caffiene increases heart rate?

Quote:
caffeine may increase the activity of several signaling enzymes, including the calcium-dependent protein kinase and protein kinase B (also called Akt), which have roles in muscle glucose uptake during and after exercise.
That was part of the explanation.
