Default Help with my plan???

Btw Sorry for the horrific typing and spelling but it is like 1:30 in the morn.

Ok, I know I have posted some stupid things in the past but i've read up on somethings and have a couple real questions.
First off to give stats, age 18: weight 320: lifting 3 years: Anything else needed just ask
And before I ask Questions i will give some upfront info about what im doing.

Now to start the post. I am starting a fast(0 cal intake) for religious purposes.
To avoid questions no this is not going to change regardless of what any1 says and I dont know how long it will last. Now I have heard and experienced that not eating kills your strenth. For several reasons i will not bore you with.
What I want to do to try and avoid this is: work out 2 times a day, also take dry protiens and amino acids, and also a vitmin pill. I would like to keep as much strenth and muscle through this process as possible. Now im not oblious to the fact that I can't keep it all, but i would like to keep alot of it.
So I figure working out more and taking in some nutrients may help. I am also thinking about taking some kind of energy pill at least for the first week, simply because of the massive energy drop that is obtained in the first 3 days. This I hope will help me avoid large strenth looses to begin with.

But back to the work out I would like to try and work upper and lower once each day. This will be 5 days a week, most likely 2 hours a day. I know this is best thought of work out but I think it may help me keep my gains up. The first work out will be in the early morning(6:30-730am) the second will be later in the day after football practice most likely (7:30-8:30pm).

With the diet as I said 0 cal intake. For any1 not understanding Just Water. I am not adverst taking any supplements( like what ever cant think of any), If anyone could think of any that would help me out please post them.

Basicly What I am asking is; is there any way to keep the muscle and strenth(at least some of it) while in a fast. That is the best i can think of that would help me out at the time. If you could help me revise my plan or anything else just let me know please.

P.S. Agian sorry for the poorly written post but did the best I could under the circumstances.

Um, I would definatly not advise training especially twice a day with football practice, while fasting. Infact I don't think you want to train at all when you are at a calorie deficit like that. I would recommend amino acids, and whey, but then again that wouldnt be fasting though? Is there anyway you can skip the fast? how long will it last?

Umm. not quite sure how long it will last as i said before. And yes amino acid is fine and if i can find a whey that is not a powder mix and just 100% protien like a pill or something i could do that. But the shakes have massive amounts of cals. I am doing the first 3 days over the weekend. I am not doing any major activites during this time. After that, your body actualy starts eating it self. (3 days get rid of toxins, thatz why you feel so bad) As you know your fat holds everything you need to surive. That includes things like protiens and aminos(correct me if im wrong) Surgars and what ever else your body needs to live. Well the best thing about a fast is, Any time your body needs anything all it does it take a fat cell breaks it down and uses it. Now since your body is in "stavation mode" it waste nothing so if you need protien you will end up with everything else that is in that cell. In the long run making you feel better during and after stainous exercises. So really I am not worried about if I can do that work out. I know I can the Question was more of that will it help. And to what extent.

Also I do Have a Question on amino acids. Really never got into bcaa, But anyone have a good source, or are they all pretty much the same. thanks.

Fasting will send you into a rediculous state of catabolism....working out while catabolic is even worse. Your fat cells will be used to an extent, but your muscle will be eaten as well. It is a bad idea to work your muscles (depleting them of nutrients, blah blah) if you cannot recharge them. I would stay out of the gym until the fast is over. My 2 pieces of copper.

Fat (Adipose) tissue stored in your body has two puposes. White cells to provide energy and brown cells to produce heat.

Here's where I think the confusion stems from. The body can convert excess carbohydrates and protein into fat. The process is 10 times less efficient than storing fat as fat so the body would rather do that but it CAN use carbs and protein. But the rub is that they are still just energy storage. To put it simply, the body may store protein as fat, but when the body needs fuel it will be eventually converted to glucose. The body cannot do the reverse process, turning the protein back into usable amino acids.

You work out like that on a fast and as Kane said you will go catabolic both in terms of fat and muscle. Any shakes you take in will likely be used as energy unless you plan on taking in enough for maintenance or above. Under such conditions skeletal muscle reserves are not a priority. Energy and the essential nutrients to sustain biological processes are.

I would just go supplements happy lol, If amino acids are kool then use a shit load, and drink a huge shake of them throughtout the day. Have two servings of whey protien powder every 2-3 hours, take your vitamins, use some type of fish oil/flax oil, and maybe dextrose/maltodextrose as a carbohydrate source (If this stuff is ok that is)

I dont think youd be able to get your hands on a protein pill or if you did you have have to take like a million of them per serving

Aight Ty alot for the answers. I do have a last question. You say i will loose muscle(I dont give a shit about muscle) I am Far More Interested In Strenth
people tend to think they are one and the same. Any1 of you know different. I really want to know if it will effect my strenth. I know my body will eat some of the muscle. And that is fine, That will happen no madder what if I work out or not. I really want to keep my strenth. I dont want to loose everything ive worked so hard for. That is why i want to work out so much. And Yes I am going to take aminos enough to maintain. Not worried about gains just maintaining. Yes I also understand That energy is important. But lets say I have a good portion of fat,(energy) after 3 days it will eat fat to get energy. My body wont really start chopping in on the muscle untill the fat starts getting thin will it??? I know its not 100% fat but it is mostly isnt it?? but agian dont care some much about muscle. I am much more worried about the strenth.

While muslce mass does not specificly equate to strength, you can rest assured that if YOU lose muscle mass YOU will lose strength.

I would suggest staying out of the gym while in a fasting state ... it will only cause you problems.

I'm not sure your definition of 'fasting' but if you can take in protien pills, or bcaa's then why cant you drink them? And whats more, if you can take protien pills, what makes that different then chewing an eating food? This makes absolutely no sense to me at all.

Well even though this might be wrong I will try to explain it (even though I'm pretty uneducated in the topic) I would think that your body would focus on eating away your muscle and then move on to the fat because your body knows it only needs a certaint amount of muscle, and the muscle that you've gained from workingout isn't nessisarily "needed" in order to survive, on the other hand your body needs the fat to maintain a stable body temperature.

Will you lose strength? I would definatly say so, working out while fasted your not going to be able to do NEARLY as much weight, and then when you go to workout when your not fasting I'm sure that your body won't be as strong from the muscle lost. Even though there is a difference between having lots of muscle and being strong, (because size doesnt always equal strength) I'm sure you will lose alot of both.

Hope some of this is right (maybe someone else can chime in to clear up some of my misunderstandings)
