Default Pre-Workout Meal (while at work)

I used to go to the gym in the morning. My preworkout meal/breakfast was oatmeal,pb,whey, and honey. and a whey+milk shake for post workout.

Now, my wife wants to go to the gym, but she can only go in the afternoon, and she wants us to go together. Sooooo, I go after work now, and I was hoping for some economically sound pre-workout meals I could have while at work.

Would a weight gainer shake be good for a prework out? (like 500 calories, 40grams carbs, 30 grams protein)

Any help or other suggests would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

You can also make chicken (or some other meat) and rice for about a week. Many of us do that, and separate it into preportioned servings. That, and you buy in bulk, and store brands/coupons, so it will be cheaper.

A weight gainer might be to heavy for your stomach to handle. I guess it depends on how long you take it before hand. Of course food would be best , but I don't know how things are for you.
