I found this and thought it was an interesting video. It's science and religion coming together..

"we are all conected by energy, bathed in a field of energy"
This is an interesting concept, it reminds me of my shihon, when we would be doing perticularly grueling parts of our training he would always tell us to "steal the energy from the person next to you" dont let them be quicker/stronger/better. It was an amazing feeling after those types of workouts, just the pure rush of it.

Pretty cool stuff talo, thanks for posting it.

Interesting. I'll watch the whole thing later. The thing that caught my ear as being a little wishy washy was the confusion of written history with cultural bias. People always think the time they are living in is unigue. Throughout history no matter when you talked to people you would get that view and the sense of waiting for something to happen. It's nothing new. Prophesies also tend to always point to a certain time...that is whatever time you happen to be living in.

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.

That has always been something that fasinates me eric. Both Point of view and emotional state with respect to historical events is very interesting. For instance, I've been reading a lot about the cold war lately (cause I'm a dork, and spy shit is cool to me) and the accounts of what actually happened dont just differ by person, they differ by time and context. Every individual retelling of a story is a unique experience, so "history" as truth is not attainable. All you can really hope for is an individuals truthful rendition of what they remember, which is of course injected with emotion, and personal conclusions.

It seems that just about every society believes they are living in the "End of Days", and each society finds logic to support those claims. Personally, i'll go with the most logical approach, this world was here when I got here, it will be here when I'm gone ... BUT GOD DAMMIT THIS WORLD WILL MISS ME

I totally agree. The idea that people in any other time would look at their time as unimportant and mundane is a little ridiculous. If your some German tribe and the Romans are coming I suspect you think "the times they are a changing"

The times are always changing there is no dough about it. But looking back in history there as always been war, and so much hate for each other as a human race.

Anyways, like he said and like others have said before. Treat others the way you want to be treated. The more a person thinks about that or acts on it, the more it becomes a reality and the world does start to change...I believe that we do create are own reality. I mean mine is going to be different then my neighbours. Even thou we all live in the same world we all see it in a different way. If we focus are energy toward the same thing, then it will change.

I like your theory on Training Hrdgain "steal the energy from the person next to you" dont let them be quicker/stronger/better.

And they all wonder why you got so big and they didn't

you know talo, the "golden rule" is something I never bought into. Through my life people have always preached that, but it only seems to go so far. I'm more of a believer in "you give an inch, they will take a yard" simply because I've seen it happen.

Its funny, when I was in my late teens there were about 10 or 12 of us that were all about the same age, all had our first or second degree black belts. I've never made more progress then in that time, we constantly pushed eachother, and none of us was willing to let some one else be better. Thats were that mentality came from, and our sensei perpetuated it, he pitted us against eachother like that. It was an awesome experience.
