who are you guys/gals pulling for and why?
i've got my candidate, but there's a lot of choices out there. I'd be interested in hearing some other's perspectives and discussing pros/cons

I like his position on the IRS/FED, but I also really like his position on Gun Control, foreign policy, downsizing/streamlining government, etc.
IMHO, i think Ron Paul is the only one really offering a change from the current path our government is heading. if elected, his position on the issues could really improve the quality of life for many americans for the next 10-15+ yrs compared to where we're headed if we get any of the other Republican/Democrat candidates.

Ron Paul is really the man. I'm always surprised - he gets everyone's support on the internet, it just has to catch up to where he is in numbers.
I hope the Republicans realize that he has that support, and that he's not just being viewed as another politician, but as a really refreshing change from where we are now.
If it's Giuliani/Romney/whoever for the R-candidate in '08, the democrats really are gonna win the election, which annoys me... I don't like the democratic choices. But if Paul gets the ticket it could be a very interesting race.

i think if Ron Paul got the nomination that he'd WIN the election. there are a TON of people who will vote for whoever isn't Hillary, and i would hate for the opponent to be a Rudy, Thompson, Romny, etc...
the meida is trying to pic the "top tier" candidates... notice Romney, Thompson, Rudy right up front in the middle with Paul off to the far side. And notice how much more time was given to Romney, Thompson, Rudy...
I think the more exposer Paul gets the more people find out that he's a viable option (and a dramatically different one). if his internet support carries over into the primaries, i think he'll blow it away.
might just be wishful thinking, but i really hope thats not the case

Couldnt have said it better myself, the only position he takes that i dislike is that he is pro-life, but even he says that the federal gov't shouldnt have a say in that, and that argument is for the state to decide.

Check this out for more info on all of the candidates:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21116732
it doesn't cover ALL the issues, but it hits some of the high points
another thing: considering the lifestyle choices a lot of the guys on this board follow, i'm suprised there isn't more support for Ron Paul on these boards just on the basis of his drug policy...
