Default Pain in left palm

Im pretty new to weight lifting, i probably have been lifting since feb of this year. I notice then when i was lifting i had pain in my left palm near the pinky in the middle in of hand. My bro recommended wearing gloves, i did this, that helped. Last week i was benching 155 and it really hurt, same place. i got the tingling feeling. i couldnt even hold my body weight to do dips after that. I own handgrips and i have been using them since feburary frequently in my spare time.

Anything i can do to strengthen my palm? I would like to lift more weight if my palm will support it. u know.. Thanks

Is it like needles? Ever had a small prick in your hand?

Seriously.... how are you holding the bar on pressing movements, like bench? Do you have the bar rolled towards the knuckles are back towards the heel of your hand? Some people have had hand/wrist issues and by moving the bar towards the heel of the hand they can take off some strain and end the pain. By moving the bar towards the heel you don't get to wrap your thumb as easily, but on pressing movements I don't wrap my thumb anyway.

This may or may not have ANYTHING to do with your issue, but I thought it was worth typing in.

Now that's some funny sh*t!
That and the Stigmata comment by Taurus.

But seriously, I'd say try what WM says. I personally usually use the heel of my hand when doing heavy sets, or I'll alternate if I feel a great deal of discomfort.

Still, this may not eliviate your pain. I suspect the problem you are having is a nerve pinch. I've had several of them, and I occaissionally get them in my hands when benching. It feels very painful, and then numbness, and I feel like I want to drop the bar. I used to stop working out when it would happen, but now, I have found ways to work through it. 1. I complete the set I'm doing, even through the pain. Then I massage the tendons in my hand, and especially my forarm (yes, this will effect your hands. Take the tips of your fingers and squeeze your forarm on top and squeeze it all the way across.) I'll also stick my fingers inbetween the tendons and sort of massage them in my forarms and hands. This always seems to get rid of the nerve pinches, and I can continue my workout without further discomfort. It may be worth a try for you.

u said you wear gloves maybe there to tight to me when i get needles in any part of my body part its like the blood flow is being cut off from them and when the blood flow goes back in thats when u feel the needles? this could be a possibility i guess?
