Default The Best State, MA

Happy as hell right now. The good 'ol state of Massachusetts is actively giving out $1,000 for anyone who was a legal resident of MA that served in Iraq. Luckily, I was a resident while serving in the Marines. I don't live there anymore but that doesn't matter. I'm getting a sweet supply of protein. Maybe a treadmill as well.

So if anyone fits the criteria, better hop aboard for a grand's worth of supplements! I'll post a link later.

While I think it's a good thing and vets deserve much more I question, what is the motive?

I'm not really sure. This isn't something that they're shouting over a loudspeaker over at CNN either. The only reason why I even know something about it is because of my mother back home reading it in a post over at the Marine Mom's website she used to frequent back when I was deployed. Another Marine Mom posted that if anyone was a resident of MA serving in Iraq, they should apply for the $1000 they're handing out.

Aside from that, if they had an evil plan, I'm all aboard with dollar signs in my eyes with some background noise going, "Ching-Ching"...Although I'm sure it probably isn't anything more than a "We recognize you, and just wanted to say thanks for serving because it's better you than me"

Then again, they don't call our state "Tax-achusetts" for nothing!!

I served in the "Sand Box" theater (USN) for a year, and I was given a college tax deduction on top of the G.I. Bill money. One was state and the other federal, so it was fantastic. I got my B.S. of Criminal Justice and had money from my G.I. Bill left over each month for living expenses. (Ohio)

1993-1997- U.S. Navy Active Duty
1997-2001- Army Guard
2001-2002- Recalled to Active Duty Army 11Bravo Infantry

The title said best state in the union but you mentioned MA, I am so confused. Treadmills are awesome, if they didnt cost a grand I would have one. But instead I run outside and risk my ankles and shins with every step. I have two buddie in the Marines. One of them is in officer training school and the other was a hard ass and got stabbed by some Iraqi lady with a screw driver he is ok now. I respect all US service men. They do all the hard work so I can stay in college and underachieve.
