I was tested posistive for celiac a few years back. When they tested me they shoved a camera down my throat and looked at my small bowel I believe it's called an endoscopy (spelling). Apparently there is supposed to be small "hairs" inside that break down the food and absorb the nutrients. With celiac the "hairs" won't grow if you continue to eat wheat, oats, barley, and a few other things. My doctor suspected it when I was barely 4'8 as a sophmore in high school. So I cut all that stuff out of my diet and managed to grow dramatically and put on quite a bit of weight in record time. Then about a year ago my mom was tested positive as well. Not being able to absorb as much nutrients as you take in could be a good reason why your name is hrdgain. I would really consider looking more in depth to it. I was watching "Driven: Kid Rock" and I guess that this is what Joe C died from cause I believe it can escalate to colon cancer.

Thanks Eddie, I appreciate the info. Luckily, now they can test with a simple blood panel, that is if your doctor isnt a dick.

I have a few people in my family that have celiac, and a few that are alergic to yeast also. Its a pain in the ass, and it has so many symptoms, it can even lead to depression, and all kinds of shit. I have been trying to stay gluten free for some time now, and its going pretty well. my stomach problems have died down, and my energy levels are up believe it or not, even with minimal carb intake.

Shit sucks, but atleast its not worse.

I know "Fresh and Natural Food Stores" have nothing but gluten free food. If they have on around your area I would make the trip. I also discovered gluten free beer.

I did a little research and it looks like the only "Frsh and Natural" food stores are located in MN. As for the beer, http://www.glutenfreebeerfestival.co...available.html. I am not 100% sure if all liquor stores have these beers if any at all but, it's worth a shot.

Sorry for taking so long to reply I went to my parents house for the weekend and didn't have access to a computer.

^^no worries eddie, thanks for the info. I've been off beer for a while now, and my gut is feeling much better for it. I would be interested to see how this stuff tastes though.

Oh, and i'm sure you know this, but for all the folks at home who maybe reading this, no beer doesnt mean no hard alcohol. Anything thats distilled (jack for instance) doesnt have gluten in it ... thank god!
