Pity: I am getting a haircut today. A number 2 on the sides and a number 4 on the top. So end of the bushy hairstyle era.
TALO: Yeah that shit is really upsetting. I could not have imagined this happening in Bombay. We have terrorist attacks which are always bomb-blasts where the bomb kills some people, the bad guys are caught and then we move on. But this situation is very different: we have hostage crisis? Thats never happened before and nobody knows how to react.
Right now the police are behaving like a bunch of bumbling fools. There is no leadership because every politician wants to cater to the 350 Muslims living in India and don't want to take a firm stand against this terrorist seige and this lack of leadership and show of balls by the politicians is failr obvious in the media.
I cannot belive so many high ranking cops and the ATS Chief himself got killed and still people are sitting surprised on their haunches.
On a macro-level I am very concerned because this is sort of economic terrorism: after this wave of attacks I don't think our markets will pick up for a long time. Our foreign relations are fucked because one family being held hostage is Jewish and the hostages in the hotel are Israeli citizens.
When India and the US signed the Nuclear 123 pact, there was political unrest because the Islamic groups did not want this alliance. So they tried to topple the government. And they failed. Miserably.
Not this is round #2 and so far they are winning. India-US relations have never been better - until this. After this fucking seige India will probably appear to be just another barbaric middle eastern country.
What I am genuinely surprised about is that there are no Hindu-Muslim riots so far. For the first time people are behaving in a mature fashion about this. That is one thing I am proud about.
So I am actually pretty upset with what is going on. Our politicians need to grow some balls and do what is required.
