Default Custom Equipment

I thought I'd mention this on the site since some people could likely make use of it.

My good friend Travis who owns the gym I train at does custom fabrication of gym equipment. He's trying to get his name out there, so the equipment he's making costs not much more than the cost of materials.

He does sleds, yokes, farmer's walk handles, and stuff like Pity was talking about in the shout box. I don't know if that was patented, but I imagine he would make the same thing for less than half that price. He's finishing up a pneumatic monolift for the gym right now. He has plans to make some barbells also.

So if anyone is considering buying some type of gym equipment or just wants him to price something, send me a PM or contact him through the gym website at http://www.stratiformstrenth.com. His work is top notch and for the price it's an exceptional bargain.

What do you think the shipping cost would be to Canada ?

The guys I train with have been getting most of their stuff ( bars , chains...etc ) from Elite and the shipping plus fee's are crazy , so if we could get the inital cost down it might be worth going to him.

I think he definitely could. I'll talk to him about it this evening or tomorrow.

I'll let him know. Since he's fabricating everything from scratch, he can make a lot of stuff completely modular so it packs down tight for shipping. I imagine he would probably be a bit cheaper than the guy that does everything for Elite. I can't remember his name off hand, but he obviously does good work also. So...I'll get back to ya.

Awesome! It's good to see entrepreneurs like your friend DOING WHAT THEY LIKE!! (many entrep's do anything for $) And, he's supporting the weight sports, not bad at all. Got any pictures of his equipment, or a site?

There is a small section on the website I posted above, but it doesn't have any pictures. I'm going to have him take videos of the stuff he has made with a brief description and an example of its use. Then I'll put them on the website. I need to hurry up and get it down. The mono he is building is pretty incredible..it's the only one like it in the world. I can't wait to get it on the site after it's finished.
