That would be true if i had a 4 year contract. Unfortunately for me i have a 5 yr, so I've been in almost 2 years now.
Still true in the context of me telling you. That's how it is.. Hypothetically, if I was in the Marines still and had 10 days left on Pendleton, and a buddy of mine had 5.. He'd call me a boot.

Yep, 8 years in the Marine Corps finally comes to an end. 4.5 ACTIVE duty, (.5 being a stop loss and getting sent to Iraq), and 3.5 INACTIVE. Although I still miss how simple life was, I don't miss them calling me every other month while I was inactive asking me if I wanted to come back in! Well, I'm proud of what I accomplished, but am especially happy that I cannot be called back in!!
Congrats on finishing up your enlistment! I still have about 7 months till my four years active is up and then I have 4 years inactive to look forward to. Lucky for me though I am AF and dont have to worry much about getting recalled in durring my inactive time!
