I had 12 Nintendo Wiis but sold them all for profit. I think it is just a good tool to hit on chicks with or just have fun with friends. Its too simple for me.

I have the Xbox 360, well I just sold it today since it was struck by the RROD. Still going to get another one. I think the difference between the PS3 and the Xbox is like a Lamborghini vs a Ferrari. Looks and high technology vs. gaming experience.

The ps3 kicks ass. Download cheap games(like bowling, with Wii technology) and free demos. Plays all memory cards from cameras , so our Christmas pictures where in a slideshow on a 42" screen. It even upgrades normal DVD movies to high quality DVD (not quite HD) Plus they gave out 5 free blueray discs.

To each his own lol. In the end, both systems are fun as SOS eluded to.. But here's some food for thought.

It's a fact that some games (not all) on the ps3 have a much slower framerate than the 360. Most sports titles on the 360 has 60 frames per second which is what the next gen games are supposed to have. PS3 simply doesn't. Also, I'm going to post a few ratings of the SAME GAMES each system has, but the 360 has a higher rating due to graphics... Enjoy.

I'll be honest here. When Peter Moore announced faster, more fluid play for sports games on the Xbox360 I barely listened. I had yet to grasp the fidelity of what he had just said. What he meant was, sports games (football in particular) will be running at 60fps on the Xbox360, but only 30fps on the PS3.

Those numbers may not seem like that much, but as is the case in Madden 2008, they seemingly make all the difference. So whats up EA? Why are you gimping PS3 owners with inferior graphics? Could the Xbox fanboys have been right all along? Here's what an EA employee had to say:

EA SPORTS: We understand gamers frustrations, but EA has been developing titles for the Xbox 360 for 3 ½ years and has only been working with the PS3 for a little over 1 year. It is very difficult to get it right the first time.

To EAs credit, all current PS3 sports games run at 30fps. Does the PS3 have the development muscle to match the Xbox 360s experience? Its still too early in the console generation cycle to tell, but this sort of issue-dodging by EA certainly bodes ill for Sony. Let’s hope the increased Blu-Ray capacity and Cell Processing are enough to overcome PS3’s difficult development issues.
On the reviews. Here's how I did it. First, on one internet page I pulled up all the xbox 360 reviews rated 9.0 or higher. On another page, I pulled up all PS3 reviews 8.0 or higher (since 9's are a fairly short list on PS3s, 45 compared to 14!)..

Disclaimer: In order to be completely FAIR to PS3 owners, I will only include a head to head comparison with the NEWEST GAMES! I will not use the long list of older titles because it's not fair LMAO!

One area that Rainbow Six: Vegas on the PlayStation 3 does fall a little short on when compared to the other versions is with regards to visuals. It's a nice looking game to be sure, but the whole thing doesn't look quite as sharp as it could. Colors are a little duller and there isn't as much use of certain effects, like bloom lighting and such. Some folks may appreciate that aspect to a certain degree, but beyond that it still doesn't look quite as nice as what we've seen previously. Some texture work isn't quite as sharp, and the characters aren't as detailed as what's found in the 360 release, especially in the faces. Weapons that have been dropped pop in and out of view as you approach and walk away when they're but a mere 50 feet or so away.

Also, as we've mentioned in one of our last previews of the game, there's a weird issue when running the title in 1080i as everything, including the menus, look very blurry. It's pretty sharp when played at 720p, which leads us to believe that at 1080i the game is still rendering at 720p and then upscaling the output image to 1080i, but poorly. So by all means, choose custom resolution support and turn off 1080i when playing the game - you'll be very happy you did.

2) Tom Clancy's Advanced Warfighter 2

Xbox 360: 9.1

PS3: 8.3

Now, here's where the main Sony/360 difference comes in. Although you can use the joysticks to pilot these crafts, they are also Sixaxis-enabled. You can tilt and rotate the device in GRAW 2 to move the M.U.L.E., fly the UAV, make Mitchell roll and a few other actions.

Personally, I found the options useless -- especially the roll.

While the Sixaxis seemed to work fine -- if not a bit floaty -- for the vehicles, the roll was incredibly unresponsive. I'd literally have to remove my left hand from the controller and shake the device with my right hand to have the captain respond. Even then, it seemed like a crapshoot as to what he was going to do. In a game where I need to be scouting the yellow objectives on my HUD and watching for red-marked enemies, that's a no-no.

Beyond that, this port is … really good. Sure, there's a framerate stutter or two when you're in the rides to the next mission and when you're getting intel from your Mexico contact, but it's nothing to freak out about; the colors seem a bit more washed out in the PS3 version than the 360 version, but it works with the desert setting; and the exaggerated, rocking camera found on the 360 when Mitchell would run has been toned down.

3) The Orange Box

Xbox 360: 9.5

PS3: 8.4!

Unfortunately, our complaints don't stop there. The remainder of our criticisms are to blame for the discrepancy in scores between the PlayStation 3 version of the game and the 360 version (the PS3 version, after all, wasn't handled entirely by Valve). The PlayStation 3 Orange Box performs far worse, and this fact just isn't up for debate. While framerate issues aren't as problematic in Half-Life 2 and Episode One, Episode Two suffers a great deal, especially during the episode's larger battles. We regret to say that some sections border on being unplayable because of the stutters, which often cause your aim to be thrown off and timing shots to be very difficult. The problem isn't persistent throughout, but when it hits, it hits hard.

More troubling still is the difference in load times. Almost all the PS3 load times are at least five seconds more than the 360, but loading a saved game/loading after death is particularly awful. These clock in at about two to three times as long as the 360 version, which slows down the gameplay considerably. Even though the PS3 Orange Box sports a quicksave feature, any benefit of this option is lost considering the overall abundance of loading.

Even in Portal, a short title that often requires a little trial and error, this problem is massive. The 360 version takes about three seconds to load your last checkpoint if you die. The PS3 version takes seventeen. It hurts.

We must also mention that during all of our Team Fortress 2 play sessions, there was a very startling delay when using explosive weapons like the Soldier's rocket launcher or the Demoman's grenade launcher. When you pull the trigger to fire, there's a very brief but noticeable delay between the recoil of the weapon and the actual delivery of the explosive. This can seriously screw up your timing when trying to lead a rocket shot, or similar attacks.

Furthermore, a few of our play sessions were laden with so much lag that they became completely unplayable. We were told that this was the result of a European server being used accidentally, as opposed to a US one which will be up and running when the retail version hits shelves, but be wary that this problem may pop up again.

Less dire but perhaps more puzzling is the difference in color throughout the games. While this may just be a result of using our particular monitors, the PS3 version seems darker than its 360 counterpart. The difference is slight and, again, could be an isolated incident, but it's worth noting nonetheless.

Closing Comments

All five games in The Orange Box are awesome, and even though we had problems here and there with some of the control choices, the experience of playing Half-Life 2 games should not be missed. Valve should be counted among the few that simply know how to tell a good story. However, the PS3 version is without a doubt inferior, so think carefully before investing the money (if you only own a PS3). The choice is yours, Mr. Freeman.
If anyone really needs me to keep going, there's a lot more to be had.. I know many people are faithful to the playstation mainly since they already spent their money on PS2's. So I can totally see wanting the PS3.. But for those who want the best games, I don't see why at all. I'll relent to the fact that the 360 was out a year earlier, but that's just another reason to get one LOL.. If you do a comparison of games for both systems rated a 9.4 or higher (on numerous websites), the xbox wins 14 to 4! Titles exclusive to the xbox 360 such as Halo 3, Gears of War, Bioshock, ect really are night and day compared to what the PS3 tries to offer as competition such as Resistance fall of man (which I didn't care for). The major trump card playstation had over xbox has always been Rockstar games such as Grand Theft Auto.. Unfortuntately, Rockstar jumped aboard Microsoft too and GTA is now available to xbox.

What PS3 does have that's exclusive to sony is the blu ray disks for high def DVD's. However, if you factor in the high price for PS3's, plus having to buy the high def cords, ect, it's the same as buying the xbox 360 plus the high def DVD attachment.. So that's a wash.

Let's do a true comparison courtesy of Bestbuy.com (online comes with better deals/packages than anywhere IMO!)

PS3: $399

* Does not come with games, or high definition cables. So add in two games and cables to the price which is what the xbox comes with. However, it does come with Spiderman 3, the MOVIE, not the game lol.

High Def Cables: $60

Two Games: $80 Low end prices at $40 per game

Total Price: $539
----------------------------------------------

Xbox 360 + High Def DVD attachment bundle: $579.97

* Comes with high def cables, TWO games, wireless headset, ethernet cables, wireless controller, ect.

Total Price: $579.97

So as people could argue, while the PS3 has high def DVD, you could easily pay a small difference and get the same thing in addition to a more powerful system in regards to graphics (double the framerate) and much greater gaming selection.

Now, what does all of the above prove to an average gamer, or someone who plays once in a while? Nothing. How's about a gamer who doesn't care for sports games or first person shooter games? Nothing. Average gamers don't notice the discrepancies of the graphics between the two systems. I'll also point out that all the highest rated games for the 360 are shooter games, and are exclusive to only Microsoft. So if someone doesn't like shooters, than it doesn't matter.

That said, for those of us who spend a lot more than a few hours a week playing, and/or enjoy going online, then the discrepancies in graphics, game selection, and online compatability are glaring to say the least. If anyone really wants to see a difference, by all means head to your local walmart or target LOL and see for yourself.

No matter what you are, it's hard for me to see a "casual gamer" who doesn't spend a lot of time playing buying either systems since it's expensive! So taking that into account, while both systems are fun either way, you gotta side with overall selection if anything else.. But that's just me, and as I've said, if a gamer already has a lot of games from the old consoles (ps2 vs. xbox), then it would make more sense to adopt the newest version of your old console... Then again, most people (like myself) happen to have more than one tv in the house, so backwards compatability is not an issue LMAO!

Right on, I knew you'd speak up.

I bought the ps3 for 499.99.(This was the 80g system) This came with 3 games (no extra charge) NFL 07,Tiger Woods 07 and MotorStorm.

THe 40g system comes with a Blueray movie and costs 399, your right that one does not come with a game.
You can play movies right out of the box with the ps3 , but with the Xbox you have to buy a player for an extra $200.

The HD cables were only $10From Walmart. If anyone pays $60 for cables, they're getting ripped off.

The clip you played comparing the two is BS. I have played both systems and if your tv is on the right setting, they play the same.

Just because I purchased a PS3 , does not mean I'm against Xbox. I went with the PS3 because it is more of a full entertainment unit. I love movies and was not going to pay an extra 200 to watch HD movies.

So $510 for a PS3 vs. $539 for the xbox.. Even Steven.

As for the video, it came from an actual gaming website without any attachments to either system.. Add to that the fact that EA Sports ALSO said it was true certainly adds to it. EA Sports made the game LOL, and they said it was true. And I've also played on both. It has NOTHING to do with your tv setting.. I'm not talking about color or anything else. I'm talking about framerate, and yes, there is a difference. There's no way you can say it's the same with a tv adjustment. How can you speed up framerate?

But gameplay and all the reviews for the same games are far from bullshit.. And I'd be pissed if I bought a PS3 for gaming, and the same games for both systems are rated in opposite directions.

You missed my previous post.. And feel free to debate why PS3 games are rated lower than xbox...

You are right in the fact that if you're buying a system based totally on being a movie buff, then PS3 is a wise choice hands down! But for the rest of us spending $60 per fucking game, I'll take the xbox 360's game selection and graphics at a lower price than a PS3 (if buying the box without high def DVD).. I originally wanted to respond to the framerate issues with sports titles, and I just kept hacking away LOL! Just be sure to tell me which knob on my 52" flat screen can speed up the framerate!
