I know that with the ps3 - the 40g is not backwards compatible, the 60g is, but they are taking that one off the shelf. The 80g is about 85% b/c. To me it sure would be nice to play old ps1 or 2 games, since they can be bought for less than $20.

I'm not sure about the xbox360.

You are right in the fact that if you're buying a system based totally on being a movie buff, then PS3 is a wise choice hands down! But for the rest of us spending $60 per fucking game, I'll take the xbox 360's game selection and graphics at a lower price than a PS3 (if buying the box without high def DVD)..

But the games are the same price. No matter what they are expensive. Same with the movies, right know the blueray and HD movies are too expensive.

The 360 has almost all games b/c, and are working on getting more done. In order to get your games b/c, you have to go online and get a microsoft download (free) which enables everything. Every so often, they'll come out with a new list that you can download in order to play old games.

That's exactly my point! If I'm paying out the ass for games, I want the most bang for my buck. For instance, the Orange Box, which is a fucking sweet bunch of games, I don't want to use the PS3 and have to wait 17 seconds to load the game every time I die vs. 5 seconds.. Little things add up.

As for as high definition movies, you're right. Too expensive. My main point for the 360 is that even if I was a die hard movie buff, how many times are you going to watch a high def DVD that you're paying a lot of money for? I mean, yeah, movies are awesome in high def, but it's not like I'm going to play them more than two or three times a year.

As far as the HD gaming goes. Mostly (from what I've seen) it's the game only playing 780 instead of 1080. Which does such ass, because if you have the 1080p tv , then you want the benifits. But since it is the games and not the system, then all the newer games that are coming out support 1080.

I'm not 100% sure about how many do or don't go to 1080, but if the disc (blueray) supports it, then the system will play it.

Maybe since the 360 came out 1yr earlier , the worked out all the bugs (like melting) so sony has some time.....I don't know!!!

your right, but I rent the blueray movie for the same price. And as time goes by they will drop in price - just like everything else.

Amazon.com has some very afforidable movies or games.

What kinds of games do you prefer?

NFL 07, NHL 08, Tiger 08, Spiderman 3 , Ultamite Allience, Enchanted Arms and Motorstorm. So many more I want to try
All I play nowadays is NFL 07 lol. Spiderman was a bitch to beat, but I'm almost done with my second run through. The second time through you get to use the black suit for the whole thing which makes things easier. It's just the finishing combo of buttons you have to press which I fucking hate.. I'm so focused on the buttons, that I don't see the moves.

If you want a game with absolutely beautiful graphic designs, Assassin's Creed is by far the best I've seen.

I guess an extra 10 secs is alot if you have add...j/k

I see where your coming from.

By the way, I'm just getting into this and Orange Box looks like a killer game. So does Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Assassin's Creed. Not to mention COD4 or GTA 5.

I've got COD4 and it's the most accurately made game I've played so far. But, inside of about 3-4 hours, and you've beaten it! It's pretty short, so the replay value is better if you go online and light up some 7 year olds LOL!

Assassin's Creed I'm still on. It's extremely repetitive for every level, but that doesn't mean it's not fun as hell. I've got three more assassinations and I'm done with that.
