Default And i'm an idoit ... again

ok, so I've been doing well with my cutting diet, slowly but surely taking off little by little. as of last friday I was 225 and feeling dam good. I've actually managed to gain a little bit of strength too, so I was feeling dam good about my dedication and my success thus far.

Then there was myrtle beach. As of this morning I am back at 230, and feeling bloated and fat ... I need some motivation guys ... yell at me, kick my ass ... i'm an idiot.

Fluid retention. A few alcoholic drinks, sodium-rich fast-foods or take-out, and late-nights contribute to the bloat. The bigger you become, the greater the %age of water weight fluctuation will be noticed. Its all relative to the change of life-style we all experience on weekends and holidays. I put on around 3-4 #s a weekend, and its gone by tuesday night/wednesday morning. Its not a big deal. Unless your going to be moving alot of weight, or planning on doing alot of aerobics, dont let it spiral out of control for weeks at a time.

Talking Advice?

Hey HrdGain,

I realize this is a late reply to your thread, but I wanted to say this anyway:

I've found that if you go off your dieting/training routine from time to time, that the downtime you feel afterwards. The guilt, depression, etc etc. is more lethal than the actual pigoutfest you enjoyed. Dude, we are all really hard on our bodies, because we want them to be optimal, but we are all still human beings and a treat every once in a while is fine

The important thing is to do your best NOT to beat yourself up over the cheat, and to just get right back on track. You'll find that when you are cutting, and you do have a day or two, or even three where you go off of it, that cutting those carbs up again will burn that excess right off very quickly. Your body didn't expect those extra calories, and since you've basically fooled it in to thinking it's in starvation mode, while dieting, it's going to tear right through those nasty calories like nothing! At least, that's been my experience. I used to get really down on myself when I'd cheat on a diet while training, but since I stopped doing that about a year ago, I've noticed I am able to motivate myself much better the next day by blowing it off and saying "Fook it! I enjoyed my weekend, now it's time to get back to work". Same thing if you get an injury, never let it get you down too bad. We're going to be on this planet for quite a while (hopefully), and you have lots of time to acheive your goals. Don't be so hard on yourself.
