Nearly a whole thread about whats wrong with Hip Hop today and I missed it?

I totally agree, Mainstream hip hop (POP) sux ass now.You have to dig a little deeper to find some good new stuff nowdays, but it is still there in artists like Little Brother,Pharoahe monche, Akrobatik,Brother Ali,Dujeous,Edo G, Immortal Technique just to name a few.

I also saw Aceyalone live last night and he fucking killed shit,very very nice live.

word. i will check that out when i get back to the crib. and i hav eot listen to it with an open mind. rapers get on my nerves so much right now i dont even listen anymore. and all philyl rappers do is scream and say stupid shit like " i dont go to school cause it aintcool" lol. ill ded give it a listen though.


i aint even gonna front. i havent gotten into to much besides rap and r and b. i heard a few rock songs and liked it but never went out of my way to get any further into it. maybe because i have enough music to hold me over. i never listen tot music when i lift. i would only need it for corny stuff like the treadmill and bike. or long distance running. im a wierdo. i basiclaly feel like im fighting with weights so i don tneed nothign to pump me up lol. and after awhile i don tneed music for cardio. all i have ot do is get used to it.

hahahh I hear ya monsta, I'm not sure what songs he has up on the myspace page, but he has a few albums out that are strong. His lyrics arent really grimy, or ignorant, he spits intelligently as far as I'm concerned. Alot of what he says talks about how rap is fucked up right now, and anyone with a hook and money can be a famous rapper. Let me know what you think of the samples he has up.

the only new music i listen to is really mellow stuff like jack johnson, matt costa, ben harper, etc.

I hate to say it monsta, but I am a casual fan sorta, its tough to get info on the birds up here, and it was even worse down in GA. I mean there is the interent, but its hard not getting all the games. I try to stay on top of everything, but its a lot of work being an eagles fan.
