Default Its January

So im back in the gym and notice its full, its that time of year where all the newbies start. They normaly give up in a couple of weeks, but today im doing my bench presses (free weights) and when i do them i always put those clips at the end of the bars, to stop the plates falling off. Better to be safe than sorry. Anyway ive done my warm ups and my first two sets. I get up to go for water, the water macnine being 20 yards away. When i get back some horrible over weight 50ish year old guy has taken my clips so that he can use them for his bp on the smith machine , I take them off him and what does he do? He sits there and waits till ive finished with them. Is it me or are these part time warriors F...ing stupid???
