Default Jesse Marunde

I don't know how many of you guys know who his is but Jesse Marunde just passed away on July 25.

He was a national strongman and former powerlifter who competed in World's Strongest Man, etc....you may have seen him on TV. He was the youngest man ever to qualify at 22 (2002 I think) and then finished second in 2005. Jesse was very impressive and always soft spoken, respectful, and just happy to be competing.

He was 27 years old. Apparently he suffered a massive coronary after doing high rep squats at his farm.

I know he has at least one son who would be around 8 years old. He always seemed like a great guy.

R.I.P.

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.

Yeah, he was the future I think.

It makes me even more sad anytime I see a young guy with a family taken away. I feel so terrible for them.

me too. thats probably the worst part. its bad enough to lose a life (of anyone) but then to put the lives of all the people depending on him for survival on the line is even worse.

That guy was huge. I thought he would be around for a while tearing up the Strongman comps. That sucks.

he also died in his home gym while working out. i think it was reported that he did a few sets of squats and then just collapsed onto the floor.

Yeah, like I said before I read it was high rep squats. I'm actually pretty sure he liked to do 20 rep squats. Which reminds me of something I should post.....
