I think you can play stuff that doesn't have the DRM encryption. On the bright side, I believe that when the player goes to read those files, the information telling it to check to see if it's encrypted is in the header. There is software that rips off the headers of the files....it's a hack to get around DRM. Of course the software is for educational purchases. So far I haven't found any music files that I couldn't get onto an MP3 player yet...one way or another.

Cool. Let me know how you like it. My sister & brother have iPods. I have an old sansa MP3 player. I might upgrade soon. I'm pretty curious about the Zune. It has some features that are better than the iPod's IMO.

ok. been playing with it for a week. the first thing i don't like...is a microsoft thing. on my pc i set everything up by artist>>album>>song. well...say you have a sountrack that has 12 different artists. each artist gets it's own "spot" with one song in it. dumb.

second thing was it didn't import some of my songs into my "collection". like on one cd...tracks 3, 4, 5, 6, 9 were not there. but everything else was. so i went back and re-ripped all my cd's that didn't copy over.

but other than that....i love it. my sennheisers sounds pretty great on it.

Is there a way you can select the entire album instead of just artists to eliminate that problem? I have a creative mp3 player, not a zune and thats how I do it.

Also I like using my Windows media play to sync my music instead of using the program you get with the mp3 player.

yeah, i can search by album/artist/playlist. it just pisses me off when i want to search by artist....because the list is twice as long as it needs to be.
