Default My Wreck

Well some of you may know that I drive a Semi for a living. I also have a set route so go to the same mountain everyday. I was driving east on a mountain road slight grade, going about 35+, oh it was also raining. I was coming up on a curve and at that split second when I'm almost going to start the curve a little convertable (very little you can figure out the make) comes hauling ass around the curve and looses control.

He first hits my landing gear knocking off the "foot" and hit my rear trailer wheels almost heat on. My rear trailer wheels rolled over his vehicle diagonally (from his passenger side headlight, over hood and partially on driver side windshield post)

It felt like a huge speed bump. The impact was so hard that it broke the welds on my rear axle where the leaf springs weld to the frame. their car was a total loss. they seemed hurt and were taken to the hospital.

Had it been less then 1/4 second earlier they would not had hit the landing gear and I would have completely run over there vehicle.

Guys, just remember to slow down a little in the rain/snow.

Crazy stuff. Scary how some people don't think anything can happen to them.

Hey thanks everyone. It was just a really weird day. Finally when they were able to get some other drivers to come up, so we could transfer the product we get word that the road they were taking to get to us is closed about 3 miles from us. Due to ROCK SLIDES. We didnt get to see them but the Sheriffs Deputy that was there said that some were the size of his S.U.V. The only vehicals they were letting through were the news vans. So got to sit at the same spot for about 12 hours.

One of the news crews on there way out stopped and ask if they could film the truck and ask a few questions (in which I imediatly re-treated to the opposite side of the truck, last year when I was on the news, for a month after, all my customers were like "hey, that was you I saw" or "hey movie star "

So all is going good they are talking to my supervisor for a few minutes...then, she must of asked "so where is the driver?" cause all I herad was "HEY JOKER13 come here" I was like F. It was a pretty quick interview that went like,

o.k. on ready(start filming) then told to look at her not the camera

"So how was it getting around the rocks and boulders,"?

"UMMM what rocks"? she gets a puzzled look on her face

"Those boulders and rocks that came off the mountain. Was is treacherous, scary "?

"Ohh umm yea, I came up the other road..never saw them"
Guess they won't be using that footage.

In the meantime my co-workers were a step behind them...trying to make me bust up.
