Actually I heard of this strongman gym in SA, dude...I wish I could remember where but since I don't own a car I dismissed it. I met up with some fellas one night at Cowboys and they happened to mention this place. They did name a price but I can't remember anything haha...

Though DH's place sounds like real fun!

I'll have to take pics next time because you guys seriously can't imagine lol. The back wall is literally filled with all types of bands and chains. There's a hundred pics all over the walls from guys that won competitions from their "garage". When people come to So. Cal, he says they contact him to get some training in. One guy was the head of the powerlifting branch in Tampa (if I remember correctly).

He puts the gluteham machine outside in the driveway for extra motivation lol. The reverse hyper has a few extra attachments so you can wrap a band around it for some abs work. A lot of his things are homemade. He has a deadlift platform he made so you can run a band around the bottoms for banded deads. Then of course someone made a sweet monolift for him.

He said he's kicked out more people than he's taken in because they were more "bodybuilder" orientated or they didn't know what they were doing. He wants guys that can add to his gym. A few guys bench over 500 raw, and one guy's 600 lbs LMAO! I'm nothing special. Probably the best thing about it is that they'll seriously be watching everything you do and critique the hell out of you to get you doing it right. The guys said that many people left because they couldn't handle it. I told them that I'm going from lifting by myself at a commercial gym to finally having guys who know what they're doing helping me out.. You could call me a pussy all day long and I don't care since I'll be hitting PR's.

The only problem I'm having is meeting the hours he's open (since it's his house). Most of the time it's 6pm which I'm going to have to shuffle my work hours around to get some time in with them. At minimum I'd like to do both my max effort days with them, and my speed days I'll settle for the commercial gyms. Perhaps I can borrow some chains for DE days (three week meso's at least) so I can keep up.

Aww, Wolf, see if you can find out where it's at! I'd like to see it! You know a strongman competitor lives here in SA, right?! Cowboys, was there an event going on, or was it just a party night? I saw Paul Van Dyke. It was freaking sweet!

wow! you've found the holy grail of powerlifting! You're gonna be a monster in no time at all. I can't imagine how loud the grunting in there will be with all the iron thrown around
