ideas for punching bag in an apartment?

Default ideas for punching bag in an apartment?

I want to hang a punching bag in my apartment.. any ideas on how to hook it up from the ceiling? Would it destroy anything???

the landlord probably won't like that. They sell "stands" for punching bags. somthing like this

Thanks. We have looked into those before, but they take up too much space (we currently live in a junior one bedroom apt). We have it hanging off a chin up bar in the middle of one of our doorways. Thought someone out there would have an idea of sorts.

lol punching judy is a fun game...Matt....I had a double ended timeing bag in my apt...Find which way the floor joist run in the ceiling. Get a speedbag swivel the one with 4 screw holes. (everlast makes them) screw the swivel into the floor joist. ran bunji from swivel to top of bag and rope from bottom of bag and tied around a 20lb barbell. Gave me plenty of room and put bunji on a clip the only thing there when ur done is swivel on the ceiling...The Joist was hard to find I ended up drilling around 30 holes in my ceiling to find it...All I did to hide the holes was wad toilet paper up in them and could never tell the difference...

I found this useful,


It's a youtube video showing how to hang a punching bag in an apartment. I highly suggest watching this, if you want a CHEAP, easy, and super effective way to hang your punching bag in your apartment. i did and it turned out great!
