Default Tuna, mmmm.......

My mom and dad went on a trip to the beach this Sat. morning-Monday evening. My dad went on a 30-mile fishing charter. He caught 2 good-sized tunas (about 30" long, I'd say), and a shark about 40" long. He had caught a big shark, about 5 ft. long, but he had to throw it back, since someone else had caught a big shark already (1 big shark per boat ) But, man, I wanted to bite those freaking thick tuna fillets last night, as we were bagging and tagging them!! Anyone else go fishing, freshwater, salt, or both?

Of course...I've only fished about 6 or 7 times this year. Two years ago, I was on/in the water for about 1/3 of the year...normally 4-5 days a week. Not quite as often in the winter, but still at least once a week. Now I don't have as much time. Growing up isn't all it's cracked up to be...

Pretty soon it'll be Wading for Walleyes right up until ice out of the lake. Floating #9 Rappalas. They come through like a hungry pack of wolves chasing the baitfish. Go at night and sometimes it's snowing so hard you can't see shore. We average 130" snow per year.

You should. May find yourself a new lifelong hobby! Just make sure to do your homework on the fish in your area-what they like, when they come out more often, etc, and sit back and read a comic while you wait for a bite!

The Stripers are supposed to turn on the bite sometime around October. So I read anyway. Surf fishing with clams, Wildwood to Cape May area. They catch alot of sand sharks while trying for the Stripers too. Pretty cool fishing too, Just chilling on the beach, eating and drinking, watching the rods. Probably not much else to watch on the beach in Oct. anyway. My sons and I are headed up north for opening of Bow this weekend. Want to get some of that super protein.

Yes. Opens tommorow morning. We have a camp on 320 acres. Be shooting ducks on the pond there next weekend. My oldest son and nephew took 11 geese yesterday afternoon in a local cornfield. It all happens at once. Not enough time and work gets in the way!
