I got my BMR (the book explains it) and got my minimum number of calorie intake (the book explains this too) and I have been making small changes to my lifestyle and getting here :)

I am actually eating a LOT less than before. The way I calculated it, before I read Leigh's book I was eating 4000-4500 calories. Thats like 500-1000 cals above maintenance...no wonder I was getting huge!

That's where I'm at now, 4500-5000, except I'm maintaining a fairly constant weight (180-184). Sometimes eating sucks. :biglaugh:

Lucky you. You've got a MUCH better metabolism than me then :)

iron_worker 01-29-2009 08:21 AM

4500-5000 and maintaining... holy metabolism batman!

IW

Kane 01-29-2009 10:16 AM

Sometimes its really more of a curse than a blessing. The plus side is that I will never have to do any sort of cutting, if my metabolism stays the same.

And I only do light cardio once a week for about 30 minutes. :D

Pitysister 01-29-2009 12:37 PM

i hear you on the metabolism...i would like to kick it's ass sometimes. we "could" be rich kane :)

Spring 2009 Training
Mesocycle 5 - Week 2

Press Day

Beginning Thoughts:
Sunday's workout....I did not feel like going to the gym.
Workout:
Elastic Band Punches:
10 reps x 3 sets

Press Singles:
175 lbs x 1 rep x 5 sets
I felt so out of groove on this lift. Granted that this was a weight very close to my max (my goal was to work in the 90%+ of my 1RM range), I should've expected it to be a bit sluggish. I got vids of the last 4 sets.

Hammer Strength Pull-ups:
BW + 10 lbs x 3 reps x 3 sets
BW + 20 lbs x 3 reps x 2 sets
BW x 2 reps x 2 sets
My left shoulder has been hurting a bit after doing this exercise...

Push-ups:
BW x 15 reps x 3 sets

Inverted Rows:
BW x 12 reps x 3 sets

Elastic Band Punches:
10 reps x 3 sets
Videos:
Press:
Diet:
Protein = 328.3 grams = 43%
Fat = 118.7 grams = 34%
Carbohydrates = 182.7 grams = 23%
TOTAL = 3130 Calories
Overall Impression:
I saw Taken on Saturday night....Awesome movie. Next weekend has some good movies coming out. Gonna watch two for sure.

Ross86 02-02-2009 06:23 AM

I liked Taken also. I watched it about a month ago. :p

Do you have macronutrient goals with your diet?

Liam Neeson is the man!

Umm..regarding my diet: no goals. Just being accountable. More fats, more protein less carbs. Thats all.

Ross86 02-02-2009 10:39 AM

Very cool. Everything is looking good with your training/diet. Keep up the good work.

Pitysister 02-02-2009 11:31 AM

those look like the perfect pullup handles :)

press looked really solid man...nice and controlled.

Kane 02-02-2009 01:04 PM

Nice pressing, Anuj.

When can we expect the 175lbs OH Squat? :D

Well, in all honesty my goal today was to get less than 100 grams of Carbs total. BUT, my shakes alone have 7 grams of carbs per shake. That accounted for 28 grams. I had to go meet my Business professor at his restaurant today for a class and I hadn't eaten in 4 hours so I downed a quarter of a milk shake = 11 grams of carbs. I need honey mustard dressing for my boiled chicken breasts and that amounted to 28 grams of carbs. 9 grams came from a hunger fest with tater tots. I wanted to have an apple juice for potassium so I got 55 grams in right there. The rest in peanut butter.

Kinda gay.

Tomorrow being a workout day I am going to have 150-200 grams of carbs but the day after I am gonna have the same food basically except no milk shake and no apple juice so my carbs should be around 114-115 grams of carbs only. That will be a fun day :(
