hit a bit of a snag in my training for the last few sessions. 2 weekends ago i strained a muscle or 2 in my right forearm carrying some concrete mesh board up 2 flights of stairs and it hurts like hell if i do heavy rows, OH presses, or chins so i've had to stay light or simply not do them at all. still, my squats, deads and bench have kept on moving steadily so i'm not totally pissed off about it yet! i'll just keep icing it at night and try not to overuse it on my job so the bloody thing can heal up.

i tried doing some janda (sp?) situps tonight. i set up my flat bench crosswise within the cage with one of the catch bars at the right height to sit behind my calves and i think this setup will work very well. man those are really hard to do, 2 sets of 7 reps (probably not full reps either) and my abs were TOAST! So i'll probably work those into the weekly ab training now.

friday should see me hitting a new PR on squats so i am totally jazzed for that woo hoo! not that it's heavy compared to most of you guys (and girls, lol!) here, but a PR is a PR!!

set a new PR for squats tonight woo hoo! and i have no doubt i coulda done 10lbs more at least with out a problem as i had plenty of gas in the tank after each set of 5 so yay for me!

bench press went good too but i have had to drop chins to just 3 sets of 5 with b/w to let this forearm strain heal.

last monday i weighed in at about 154lbs and so now i'm squatting more than my b/w which is very cool

next week is another deload and then that will be 10 weeks of consistent training and eating. i checked back in my training log of 2008 and there was not one single instance of even 5 weeks of steady training, nevermind 10! last year was a truly lost year for me as far as the gym goes.
so after the deload i'll keep on with the linear but i dont think i can plan for "x" amount of weeks for loading then a deload anymore, i'll have to play it by ear from here on in. i'd love to nab another 4 weeks of loading though!

we'll see

not a bad w/o tonight considering i got shit sleep several days this week.

moving up steadily on squats so now my last w/u set is the same as my old PR
they were pretty tough tonight though and i should need to start making smaller jumps in weight pretty soon, like maybe NOW, lol!

i missed the last rep of my last set on the bench tonight so i'll keep the same weight for next time and see how it goes. this is still my worst exercise though. i figure i'll probably struggle with the bench forever but i aint giving up on it.

no you're not imagining this.... i really am posting an update, lol!

came back to training at the end of November after a long layoff due to much OT and renovations in the home. Went right back to what worked best for me, RIP's SS program with my usual tweeks. this past week i hit new PR's on squats, bench, weighted chins, cambered bar curls, weighted crunches, DB lateral raises and close grip presses. Rows and Deads are close to a new PR as well. weights are still pussy compared to you guys but thankfully none of you live in my neighborhood

this past summer i did a 12 week fat loss diet while i was training and was in the best shape of my sorry ass life, but a bit too skinny (about 145lbs). this summer i'm gonna do it again but should end up about 10lbs heavier.

ok see ya in about a year or so
