Ok, so I purchased some stuff online.
Protein
I bought 11 lbs of Whey Concentrate from True Protein. Dutch Chocolate Fudge Flavor. Tastes pretty good. It will take some time to get used to this. I hate having protein powders lol.
Here's the link: Whey Protein Concentrate
Fatty Acids
I bought 100 tablets from All The Whey of Fish Oil.
Here's the link: Fish Oil
What a waste of money...I could've bought a 1000 tablets from True Protein at a much better rate: True Protein Fish Oil
Oh well...next time...
Weightlifting Accessories
I purchased some Fractional Plates and Wrist Straps from APT Pro Wrist Straps.
Here are the links:

this went as planned. its funny. before, my weakness on the bench was getting the bar off my chest. now its at midpoint. shit. i think ill have to do more tricep work then. my shoulders also felt a tad bit weird today..
|
Me too lol I started a bit of DE work after bench PRs on fridays and since then my bench jumped considerably!! Now my sticking point is about midpoint too.

haha....yeah. perhaps. or perhaps pin presses? that sounds good actually. i might do that to be honest next time. ill do the DE work and then 2 sets of pin presses and then 1 set of a paused press. ofcourse, paused press comes first...

Aren't you more or less maintaining bench? DE work notwithstanding if you start worrying about sticking points then you are not really maintaining you are trying to improve or overcome. Sounds like a case of not being able to stick to a plan.
Having your sticking points move around is normal and GOOD. That is what you want to happen. It means you got the job done and now there is a new job. It's nothing to get upset about. If your workout went to plan then don't worry about it. Just doing the DE work can help that kind of sticking point anyway.
Doing some board or pin pressing is not big deal of course. It's not that. It's just that I don't want to see you get carried away manipulating bench day and all of a sudden you're doing something completely off plan.
Now, for pin presses, if you mean mid-point pin presses...I hate them. The pins fuck it all up and make it completely unnatural. You can't beat boards for that. It is like a regular bench press just higher, whereas the pins tend to turn it into a slightly different exercise.

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.

My bench hasn't really moved in...well, I don't even want to say. I think I reached my peak about a year ago? And have since been trying to recapture the glory. Feel better?

Deadlift Day
Cycle 3
Overall Impression:
i dont like the cold :( im so not used to it...it really puts me off my groove! The Workout:
Deadlifts
- 275 lbs x 5 reps x 3 sets
my form was a little off. but, unlike last time i was able to complete all 3 sets. unfortunately, my calluses on my palm almost got ripped off. grip is an issue not because its weak per se but because of the cold...my hands become numb :(
Bulgarian Squats
- 40 lbs x 8 reps x 2 sets
Glute Ham Raises
- BW x 8 reps x 3 sets
Grip Work
Barbell Curls supersetted with Incline Dumbbell Curls
- 70 lbs x 6 reps x 2 sets and 15 lbs x 10 reps x 2 sets respectively
Barbell curls supersetted with Hammer Curls
- 90 lbs x 2 reps x 1 set and 50 lbs x 2 reps x 1 set respectively
Ab Work
- Lat Pull Down Sit-ups = 80 lbs x 10 reps x 3 sets
- Over Head Side Bends w/ Plate 20 lbs x 10 reps x 1 set

No not exactly....it's more like dropping some weight off max, getting some back, etc. and so on, lol. It's wierd and I have managed to identify some of the culprits, such as shoulder problems, but to tell the truth I was pretty darn surprised I got as good as I was and bench is not something I'm going to sweat too much. I don't lay in bed at night thinking about bench. My head is full of deadlifting
Good workout. No more forearm work until next week, OK? Also, instead of overloading on such forearm volume you should mix it up with supportive grip training.
