you can sort of see the numbers on the vertebrae...it's inbetween the top 2...11 and 12...the deformity is on the left side...and the bulge is on the right. you can't see it but the disc goes out past the vertebrae...and makes a capital T....so part of it goes up and part of it goes down. really quite cool looking :)

It is quite cool looking. My back doesn't look like that...you're unique! :)

Had the spinal epidural today. just got home.

Very interesting procedure. Got on the table with the Real Time Xray Machine, so he could pinpoint right where to put the shot. He cleaned it...then injected me with numbing stuff, while doing this he hit a nerve and my left foot jumped a good distance up in the air :) And then when he started putting the drugs in, there was a burning sensation, and large amounts of pressure i could feel all the way through my abdomen down through my legs into my toes. Almost felt like my whole body was being filled up with air from a large compressor. Then i laid on the table for awhile, and then sat in "recovery" for a little while, then came home.

In need of a nap :)

Good stuff...too bad they didn't put you under like they did me. I hope this helps with your recovery.

still quite sore today. doc said it would take the steroids 3-5 days to work their way in there and get crackin. he was a really cool dude....pretty sure he was indian...hardly any accent at all though, very easy to understand which was quite nice. and he was funny....we were joking around while he was doing his thing...me and him and the nurse were laughing and he was like.."even though this is not a very good time to laugh"...since i have a needle in my back.

ross how long was your recovery? yours was a little more serious than mine....i'm gonna try going back to work on monday. if i feel up to it.

I was leading a fairly sedentary lifestyle for a while there. I think I started going to PT about a week or two after the injections. I went for a couple of weeks, then continued to do some stuff at home. I'd say.....a little over a month. It's been 6-8 years ago, so I don't remember too well.
