Yeah, I'm the type that views a missed PR as a wasted workout. Sadistic?.. Yup, I think so, but I cannot change my views. My ME BENCH numbers are already so high as they are. So much so that I'm starting to think about getting a benching shirt to stay safe. Refer to my Tate article on page one. He makes a lot of sense about this.

So if I can at least match or come close to an old PR for a few rotations, and focus harder on increasing my ME triceps and all my shoulder exercises, then in time I'll beat them. Plus, it's harder when someone is natural as well to continue increasing past 400 fucking pounds for any press. :weights:

Deadlifts and some squat variations I know I still have quite a bit left in the tank so I'm not worried about those.

Thanks Anuj. I'm actually trying to elliminate my weaknesses, which is the backbone of powerlifting. My weakness with pressing is about 1/2 way up with most weight past 385 lbs. So I'm adding in a lot more triceps presses AND extensions, and am going to be a lot more aggressive with increasing shoulder pressing weight.

I'm also toying with the idea of doing a lot more board/floor pressing vs. wide grip and CGB presses. We'll see on that. Plus, my DE BENCH days should help me power past that sticking point anyways.

I'm the same way Bro. If I can't that number, then my entire mood changes...sometimes it means I go nuts and pile on the weight on some other exercise....inadvertantly breaking an old PR :biglaugh:

All and all I'd say your doing a pretty fuckin kick ass job, keep it up!

ME SQUAT/DEADLIFT:

Olympic squats I hit a 5 lb PR on. 410 x 1.. Kinda upset though because it was easier than I thought it would be, meaning I originally had a 5 lb plate per side, then stripped it for a 2.5. I did a lot more volume working up this time as well. 225 x 5, 275 x 3, 335 x 2, 365 x 1, 410 x 1. DROP set with 325 x 6 easy. I could've done more, but I was lazy.

Plate deadlifts I hit another 20 lb PR. I'm kinda mad with these as well because I still could've done a lot more. 475 x 1 with these. I figure that I can still reach between 10-20 lb PR's on ME squats for some exercise more than others, and at least 20 lb PR's for deadlifts.

Pullthroughs [190 x 3 x 12] ss w/ weighted hypes [35 x 2 x 10]. Banded abs pulldowns I increased to 4 x 17. Calves were DC style with 3 plates and a 25 per side for 12 reps (12 second stretch), then another drop set with 3 plates for 12 slow ones (5 seconds up, 5 seconds down).

you love those DC style calves huh. Are they bigger then your arms yet? hahha just bustin balls dude.

great progress, dont be too upset with yourself when setting new PR's.

LOL, true. But going back to one of my previous posts about not going for a PR if I don't feel up to it. I felt terrific going into last night's workout, and definately capable of hitting a higher PR. I stopped short of what I wanted because of the mind fuck. Shit, next time I could be half tired and not even hit half that! :D

Just stay positive, with weights that high I believe the mind to have a strong effect on performance.

You’re doing great, keep it up.

DE BENCH: (Thursday)

Good day, lots of volume. Banded speed bench (215) 9 x 3 using three grips was really fast. Felt a lot better than last week. Standing military press I nailed all 3 x 6 with 205, finally, so I'll increase next week.

I supersetted incline db press [2x10 - 105's] with weighted pullups [2x6 - 35 db]. I didn't have very much rest between sets. My first set of incline press was harder/slower than my second set. I didn't do any warmup sets, which was the reason. So from now on I'll do a quick set of 10 with some 60's or something to get my muscles ready.

Pulldowns [2x10 - 240], followed by chest-supported rows [3x10 - 300]. My biceps were feeling gassed towards the last set of rows. I've either been sick or hung over on this day, so I'm getting used to the volume all over again.

Arms I opted for seated db curls [3x10 - 40's] ss w/ 90 lb skullcrushers for 3 x 10. Very easy weight for both. Ended the day with 2 x 15 slow burnin' side laterals w/ 35's.

----

I bought some Xtend from nutraplanet.com and got it in only 2 days! Pretty sweet deals too. I took the Xtend [6 scoops] into the gym with me for a change and was pretty impressed. Kept me going past the point where I'm always gassed (rows). Faster recovery between sets as well. Good stuff!
