In case anyone's wondering, I erased what I had a few posts back about doing 5 x 5 work squatting to add some more size to my legs. Fucking stupid once I was in the gym yesterday thinking about it! Real fucking stupid.

Instead, it only makes more sense for me to add in my leg presses (2 x 15 heavy) on ME days, and something else for DE SQUAT days. Makes no sense to start monkey fucking my program adding in 5 x 5 O squats sacrificing strength for hypertrophy.... Especially while I continue climbing up in weight in every exercise.

I think I was pissed about the front squatting when I came up with that. I'm replacing front squats with another Box Squat (1" below parallel, same as DE days). If I feel a lot of mental drain from always going north of 405 lbs, then I'll do a week of front squats since it's a lot lighter.

As for the 5 x 5, I plan on doing that ONLY during a deload instead of DE Squats, which are hell on my joints. So my next deload, whenever that is, will be predominantly repetition method, still keeping it relatively heavy. By that I mean doing my ME squat with something like wide parallel squats 5 x 5 pyramiding up to 365 lbs, and DE squat with something like Olympic squats 5 x 5 (same weight) with 315 lbs. So still sorta heavy, yet light enough to feel mentally awesome. Upper body will probably be the same as last time... Still doing ME exercises for a 1 RM, no drops, slashed volume.

DE BENCH: Strong day, but felt a little more gassed than usual by the end..

Speed Bench: (no bands) 225 x 9 x 3

- Got to the gym late, and the rack was of course taken. I opted for less weight than I could've done just to get the speed as fast as humanly possible. As always, before I could get done saying "one mississippi" in my head, my triple was over with.

Standing OHP: 225 x 3 x 5 (PR!)

- Strong as FUCK! Next time I plan on 230-235 for a PR I never thought I'd see.

Decline DB Press: 110 x 3 x 10

Pulldowns: 250 x 3 x 10

Chest-Supported Rows: 320 x 2 x 12

Seated DB Curls [45 x 2 x 10] ss w/ Rolling DB Extensions [45 x 2 x 10]

- Good day. Due to availability since I was lifting with a million others, I didn't use bands for speed bench, nor did I superset between db presses and weighted pullups. That's why I did an extra set of pulldowns.

DE SQUAT/DEADLIFT: Didn't want to be there today.

Banded DE Squat: 255 x 8 x 2

- Knee still is sore. Lower back was hurting me today as well. Decent speed. Next week I'll do 265 and try to be as fast as I normally am.

Speed Deadlifts: 365 x 6 x 1

- No bands because someone was using the powerrack. Probably a good thing because I wasn't feeling too fast with these either. It was slower than usual coming up off the floor, but it was easy as fuck. Just not a fast day for me. Probably due to me not being used to waking up and lifting because I've been doing a lot of day shifts at work instead of my usual nights.

DB Swings [100 x 2 x 12] ss w/ Weighted Hypers [35 x 2 x 10]

Banded Abs Pulldowns: 4 x 15

- Blah....!

Off hand I'd say:

Bench: 405
Squat: 440
Deadlift: 515
----
1360 lbs

The only thing that I know is higher than I usually lift is of course deadlifts. I can nail 495 AFTER I do a max effort squat plus two heavy drop sets. So if I just walked into the gym for nothing but deadlifts, I'd be about there...

^^ All those are RAW lifts:

Bench: No equipment at all
Squat: Knee Wraps, Belt
Deadlift: Straps, Belt

So I guess if I got a shirt and a suit I'd be in pretty fucking great shape. I don't think I'd have to say that I take no steroids as everyone already knows that.

that was a lame joke.

but: awesome stats sir. really. really great. and u have SO much left for improvement.....jeez...

u know, i was thinking about this: if u ever want to discuss changing things up and stuff: u might want to contact 53greystreet from IM...ive heard he's really good with PL'ing (he competes) and ive been reading a lot of westside / powerlifting articles for core training and i read what ppl had to say about his knowledge and stuff....im just saying...so don get pissed with me....

Too much ego over at IM. Maybe not in the powerlifting forum, but the doggpound looks rediculous! Plus, I've already seen what one trainer can do!.. You could get that service for free reading the fat loss forum's stickies!!

But I hear what you're saying. I've read every article possibly available, and about 50% is meant for the elite, or guys that know how to run test year around, not me. When people start really trying to do those articles, their training starts to get too fucked up IMO. So I take a little here and there and either add or subtract from what I'm currently doing, and go from there.

If I somehow stop progressing, I'd rather hit up Reynolds, who already knows what I can and cannot handle, and knows what applies to me and what doesn't. Not taking anything away from that other guy at IM.. Just Reynolds knows me a lot better, and has already blasted my up from where I was to where I'm at, which I could never had imagined I'd be.

ME BENCH: Good day.

Incline Press:

185 x 5
225 x 5
255 x 3
275 x 2
295 x 1
315 x 1
340 x 1 (+5 PR)
275 x 7, 6 DROPS

- Felt strong. I should've just threw the 5 on and got 345 lbs, which I could've easily got. My spotter didn't touch the bar whatsoever as per my instructions. The 275 for the drop sets was way too easy.

JM Press: Few sets of 5 reps. I forgot my boards, so that's the reason for the JM's. I still don't like these because it really grinds my elbow joint.

Pendlay Rows: 285 x 3 x 8

- Next time I'm increasing, which I should've done a few weeks back. It's easy enough to where I know another 10 lbs would make this slightly more challenging.

Hammer Strength Press: 270 x 2 x 10

Reverse Pec Dec Flyes: 180 x 3 x 10

- I'm going to alternate between these and face pulls for a little while just to break things up.

No biceps today because I felt a little sick, and wanted to make it back to catch the end of the Saints - Bears game, then my Pats to follow.
