Thanks.

In other news, I'm buying a treadmill sometime this week. Nothing really expensive or special. All I need is something that'll be easy on the joints so I can hit up the cardio after a brutal leg day. I also don't feel like running around my neighborhood, so a treadmill makes the most sense.

I'm sure ou know this, but the cheaper ones anything under $400 don't seem to last. I'm on my second one and this one is having speed control problems. next time I think I'll just get a used gym quality one

Which ones? I was thinking about going to Costco. That's a good point though. Why risk losing $400 a pop when I could just spend the extra and get one that'll last.

I've been looking into this one: Costco

Honestly you can't go wrong w/ Costco they always back up there products, I really don't know much about them, just that my next one would be a used comercial new would be at least 2g's. The only fault i see in that seems to be the wieght limit of 300lbs

Right on. Luckily, I'm starting to work DOWN in weight from about 248ish.. I'm dressing up my diet as of now, and want to also start with the moderate cardio in between every weight training day.

Just your cleaner diet. Mainly either low carb days when I'm not in the gym, and moderate on training days. I'm also going to rely a lot more on protein shakes vs. my usual meals. Just for simplicity sake.

My full diet is actually quite simple to maintain. My grocery shopping once a week will comprise of only buying food that's located around the outside aisles. So only lean meat, cottage cheese, and lots of veggies. Oatmeal I'm going to keep to mornings only. If I can do this strict for a week, then I'll put myself in good position to stay on it.

Last night my wife and I were looking at all my old pics from the Marine Corps (very lean!). It got me remembering how in shape I was cardio-wise. So I'd like to try and get back to what I call "combat readiness". It really shouldn't affect me strength wise. Last time I dieted like this was with the 5x5, and strength was never an issue. That reminds me that my DE is now RE for the next few weeks. :D

I think between eating really clean and actually doing cardio more than once a week should be all it takes. I've been lazy for the past few weeks on both fronts. I've been siding with more sleep vs. cardio. Tsk tsk.

What will your cardio protocol be?

Will the diet follow a 40/20/40 ratio? (Protein/Carbs/Fats)

Where you been Slay?? PM me when you get a chance.

The diet is nothing really major. The only thing I'm keeping a close eye on is the protein. Carbs will always start off with a cup of oatmeal in the morning unless it's a training day. I'm going to try and keep the carbs low GI only. So out of about 7-8 meals, 2-3 will be pro/carb.

Since I wake up and lift, I'd be using Vitargo. Only 1 scoop preworkout, 2 post. I'm buying my supplements from my store probably tomorrow. Flax oil, 10 lb bag of whey.. Shit like that.

I'm cutting out all the hamburger meat as well in favor of ground turkey. That should REALLY help.

An example of nonweightlifting day:

Wake up: scrambled eggs (4 whole, 4 whites), 1 cup oats, fish oil caps (3 caps)

Meal 2: 3 scoops of protein, 1 tbsp flax, 1 cup cottage cheese

Meal 3: Ground turkey, 1.5 cups steamed broccoli

Meal 4: 3 scoops protein, 1 tbsp flax

Meal 5: Ground turkey, whole wheat pasta w/ sauce, 1 cup broccoli

Meal 6: 2 Chicken breast, mixed veggies

Meal 7: 2 scoops protein, 1 tbsp flax, 1 cup cottage cheese, fish oil

That's about it. The only difference between what I'm currently eating and what's detailed above is that I'm eating more processed foods (especially cheese), skim milk, no flax, and not nearly enough veggies!! So to say I'm doing a total diet overhaul would be untrue. I'm just cleaning it up a good deal.

It all boils down to me getting a little lazy. Lately I've been worried more about getting extra sleep in and playing some xbox360 :D vs. spending the extra hour per day preparing the veggies and hitting the cardio. I just need to get off my ass and dawn the fucking apron. I also think that buying the treadmill is a definate step in the right direction. By running on a treadmill I don't mean going balls to the wall for 45 minutes either. I'm talking possibly a slow jog on an incline for 40 or so minutes.

good luck w/ that...reminds me I need to start doing cardio again, funny speaking of burgers, just finished up a 20lb box of 1/2lber's that I got from work, certified black angus..I miss them already:rolleyes:
