Thanks bro. I'd definately like to start cutting, but I'm still on a metabolic reset diet because my metabolism currently sucks. It's getting a lot better obviously with all the food and cardio sprinkled in, but I still have a ways to go. I'm not using any stimulants or anything, so it's going to take a while to get my body where it NATURALLY needs to be before I start cutting cals. At least this way, when I finally become a fat burning furnace, those types up supplements like Forskolin (for example) will really throw things into hyperdrive.

Strength phase baby!

Tonight, after getting over 15 hours of catchup sleep, just had one of the best lifting days I've had in quite a while. ME Bench I maxed out bench pressing at 405 x 1 AGAIN!.. This time after a solid month of straight hypertrophy training (low/mod. freq, long TUT, moderately high volume). So I haven't lost a beat, and actually gained strength overall alternating. Worksets I just kept adding 20 lbs in disbelief.. 345, 365, 385, 405 x 1. I had a spotter standing behind, and he never had to touch the bar so I'm STOKED. I figured I lost some strength and was hoping for 365ish. This was the first time in the past 3 months w/ IA that I attempted a 1 RM for bench.

Now I've got three more weeks to bring it up higher... Good grief.

That's the way it should be Matt, so long as you don't spend too much time w/ it.

Yesterday concluded my first week back in strength.. Best COMPLETE week of lifting I've EVER had. Motivation was 100% all four days in the gym, rest/sleep was maximized, and stress was very low.

I got 5 easy sets of DB presses with the 125's which presents the problem of figuring out what I should do for next week since those are the heaviest we've got? Gotta give Wes a call on that one. I slowed down the tempo with a much longer negative between reps, but it's not enough. My guess would be either more reps, faster rest periods (120 vs 150 seconds), or both. I was thinking about incorperating my bands w/ the DB's for more top end tension. We shall see.

Yesterday I started doing some banded dips and they were pretty f'ing tough to fight through. Only one light band this time, but with my dip bar being so high, it had killer tension. I DID try using both bands, but the placement was too far forward of my position and was too much tension to fight through without being torpedo'd forward.

Overall I'm hoping this continues through this week.

Since I have DAY shift all this week, big numbers still apply lol..

ME Squat: Worked up to 495 x 3 (belted/NO straps). I'm still putting it up with decent speed so my GOAL for the next week is to match my old RM for 3 reps, then surpass it for a new 3 RM. That'll be a good way to end this strength phase with some style. I want to raise the bar as high as possible so that if I was to fuck something up later down the line, I'll at least feel better about it.

Yesterday went well considering I hit the gym just after a nice 2 hours in traffic coming home from work. Got in a lot of work in benching 335 this time around. Good form, extremely controlled.. Slowed the negative a bit so I don't bounce the weight off my chest like a ponce -> 80% of the gym nationwide lol. Next week I'll bump that up to 345-350 lbs. 120's for inclines which is fine since next week is my last week for these. 125's for inclines has always been a goal of mine that I've kinda written off a long time ago.

About the 125's for Saturday's workouts. I talked to Wes about this. Great guy to talk to. Must've been on the phone with him talking about random weightroom stories for almost an hour lol. I'm going to start using my light bands along with my DB's. This way I'll add in upwards of 60 lbs of additional weight!

Thanks Matt! Shoot me a pm when you get a chance.

Well, the wake and bake went good. Definately no loss of strength, just a little mental fog that dissapated with some weighted pullups. Looking back at my notes, I don't believe I ever deadlifted over 500 lbs before LOL! Oh well. Doesn't really matter anymore since today I was able to pull 515 x 2 (belted only). First one went up with good speed, the second one was pretty slow but managable. I didn't bother trying for a third rep because I was psyched that I made two LOL.. Forgot there was another one to attempt. How fucking stupid was that? I'll honestly say that I just didn't feel like putting the effort in because I was afraid of getting stuck. In the back of my mind I was thinking a little of the next set. The good news is that next week's max/deload week won't have hardly any volume, and lots of time off so I can pour 100% into those lifts.

My goal for this week is to get my digital working because I'm very excited for next week already! Today my batteries were dead. I even took the batteries out of my xbox360 controller for it just before I left, but of course they didn't have enough juice either.
