The speed work on deads is important just make sure your form is tight so you don't injure yourself trying to fly through the movement. Good work on the bar placement with squats and congrats on getting the press reps.

Thanks widdoes LOL @ your sig cardio does suck!!

Performance Day today

Had a bit of a toughie today, felt like shit, tired etc so my workout was never gonna be great.I did hit a small PR on squats but nothing else was good.I missed a PR attempt on benach and was too tired for any speed work so I skipped it.

Performance Day 22/2/08
Squat 1x1 122.5kg (PR)
Close/Med Grip Bench 1x0 100kg (man I wanted this )
Pullup BW 1x8,5,4

I had my squat form critiqued by rippetoe from my last volume day.Im still having my feet jump around on me when I squat and its definatley affecting my hip drive. He suggested I get some weightlifting shoes, which Ill do ASAP.Other than that I just gotta perfect my descent a bit too.

Stress Day

Feeling run down a tired all weekend, achey legs and not much of an appetite, so I decided to do a lower volume sort of day today.I dropped the weight on squats way down to work on my form a bit too.I tried my luck on bench but only got 2 sets before I got pinned so I dropped off a shitload of weight and just did a set of 8.Chins were gonna be 5x5 but I stopped at 3x5 until next week.

Stress Day 25/2/08
Squat 3x5 92.5kg
Bench 1x4,3 83.5kg 1x8 70kg
Chin 3x5 BW+10kg

So my plan with squats is to add 2.5-5lbs to the bar on wed and then friday too, I'll follow the SS novice format until I hit my previous weights and then I'll go from there, just to give me some lighter weights and to deload a bit, plus try work out the form pointers Rip gave me.

Ok guys had a decent one today, resetting my squats has really done the trick, 95kg felt easier today than 92.5kg felt on monday so thats good, body feels great too. I'm just gonna milk this 3x5 until it stops working for now, I have no idea how long it will work but we will see.Didnt push press too hard, nor deadlifts.

Light day 27/2/08
Squat 3x5 95kg
Press 1x7,6,5 40kg
Deadlift 1x1 100kg,110kg,120kg

Eric if you read this I'll get those tests done asap, work has been so hectic lately.cheers

Yeah pity Im feeling pretty awesome right now, my weight is finally up a pound or so and I feel great, sleep is better too.

Performance Day

Another relatively easy day, I upped the weight on squats again with no probs, did a lighter set of benches hit some chins and called it a day.

Performance Day 29/2/08
Squat 3x5 97.5kg
Bench 1x7 75kg
Pullup 1x6,5,5 BW+ 2.5kg

I guess I really needed that deload/reset!!

The best deload is a full week OFF.........Sure does make you feel stronger when you come back.
