Howdy folks Performance day went great today.Squats were feeling good, although Im yet to review the footage to check my form.Bench was tough as I suspected, I added a KG but dropped a rep, I suspect that I will have to do more soon to keep progressing on Fridays but wont jump to any conclusions yet.I'll keep this weight next week and try to get another rep.Chins were hard but I still got all 5 reps.

Performance Day 12/10/07
Squat 1x4 100kg
Bench 1x2 81 kg (PR)
Chin 1x5 BW+16kg (PR)

I also did a back off on squats again. I did 62.5kg for 10 fast reps.I am not sure if this is ok for back offs, but the higher reps really burn and feel great.Anyone feel free to let me know if they are not suitable at this point in time.

Cheers HIThopper

I think that weight for the backoffs is fine. I would prefer to stop short of a burn as for me the purpose of a backoff is to reinforce technique and whatnot. A burn tends to also come along with fatigue which means the last reps won't be very perfect. But some do backoffs just to get extra volume, so...

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.

Stress Day today, things went very well, squats were good bench was hard but solid and I smoked chins,I really shouldnt have missed last weeks chins, I dont know what happened.

Stress Day 15/10/07
Squat 5x3 96kg
Bench 5x3 77.5kg
Chin 5x5 BW+8.75kg

Squats were pretty good, nice tight arch and depth was good,I was previously getting a tad deeper but I was losing a bit of my arch so this way is better.I think squats and benches are volume PRs too.

Good workout overall, now lemme at the food!!

Hi folks had a pretty good day in the gym today, Squats were good nice and light and form was tight.Press was feeling good but I videod them and as i lock out I am leaning forward a bit and the bar ends up locking out too far behind my head!! LOL what a bastard!! I am confusing pushing the head and body forward with getting under the bar. Looks like its back to reading SS (again!!) for me!! It seems I have fixed my elbow starting position and now I just gotta sort the finish out a bit! Deadlifts were feeling very good, I looked at the footage and today I was starting with the bar against the shins but in an effort to keep the chest up I was leaning back a bit too much which caused my arms to be vertically in line with the bar.It evened out as I began the pull but still I have to get that starting position down perfect.More reading required here too methinks

Light Day 17/10/07
Squat 2x5 75kg
Press 5x5 37.5kg
Deadlift 1x5 121kg

Now if anyone needs me Ill be on the couch re reading SS LOL

Hey folks good day in the gym today, squats felt good I added 1kg and got 4 reps like last week so happy there.I got the extra rep on bench this week too, I dropped the back off or burn set from squats and did it on bench, felt great as I havent done any reps higher than 3s on bench for a while.I added a kg to chins but dropped a rep, Ill hold that weight next week, Im close to my goal there of strapping a wheel to my belt for chins cant wait!!

Performance Day 19/10/07
Squat 1x4 101kg (PR new 4rm)
Bench 1x3 81kg (PR new 3rm
Chin 1x4 BW+17kg (PR)

Cheers HIThopper

its nice to see u like high rep bench presses. i am so used to holding my breath for many reps that its impossible for me to do high rep work on my bench and squats: it runs me into the ground lol. this used to be a huge problem for me actually but a while ago Eric worked with me to overcome this and now i can do high rep bench work, etc but i just dont like it. somehow, having teh burn doesnt make me happy

congrats on another good workout though

Gday folks

Had a so so day today. For starters I was very lethargic before the workout, and managed to feel ok during squats.Hit all my reps and then moved to Bench, this was hard as shit!! I remember thinking after my 1st workset NO WAY will I get all 15 reps today!! but I did, even tho I dont know how!! I missed 2 reps on chins, by the end of the workout I was hammered and those last reps were just not gonna happen.

Stress Day 22/10/07
Squat 5x3 97.5kg
Bench 5x3 78.5kg
Chin 3x5,4,4 BW+10kg

Might try get a few extra hours sleep 2nite.
