ME Bench Day

Did some close grip bench for ME today, felt a bit shitty but did well in the end.Hit a PR that equals my best flat bench effort and just missed a double PR.I shoulda fucking had it I got it about an inch from lock out, all I needed to do was rotate my arms and it woulda locked!! FUCK!!! so pissed it just didnt feel like I got it that close LOL Oh well.Did some dumbell pressing next but wasnt feeling it finished with Extensions and some dumbell rows.Good session.

ME Bench Day 1/10/08
CG Bench 1x1 95kg 1x1 105kg(PR) 1xM 106kg (SOOO Close)
Dumbell Bench 2x8 30kg
Extension To Forehead 4x10 22.5kg
Dumbell Row 4x8 35kg

I bet you hit it next time.

How long will you do CGBP before switching over to a medium or wide grip ?

I'm going to be doing the CGBP next ME day and stop doing declines for awhile.

I dont generally max much with close grip.I started rotating Upper ME lifts every week cos I was getting sore joints etc.So I now tend to go

Week 1 Full Range Press eg decline
Week 2 Mid Range eg board press
Week 3 full Range Close grip press
Week 4 deload or flat bench form work to about 80%ish

Week 5,6,7 Repeat with 3 diff type exercises.I dont tend to worry about changing grips yet cos I havent needed to.Plus I work 3 diff grips on DE Day too.

I just bought Wendlers Max effort Ebook so that will def provide some good reading. And hopefully some new ideas.

75 reps. Good stuff.

I see what your saying with switching things up and not worring about grip.

I think I need to change things up more than I do - It's just hard when still making progress on certain things.
