Ahh the perfect end to a perfect week............................ NOT!!

Hit a PR in squats for weight, got 3 good reps and a very ordinary 4th, the 4th rep is the only time Ive ever been kinda scared I might get hurt, not good.Bench was the same as last week, 2 reps only but thats not surprising considering monday was a disaster.Chins sucked balls too, I only got 3 reps. All up a shit day really.

Performance Day 2/11/07
Squat 1x3 103.5kg (PR)
Bench 1x2 82.5kg same as last week
Chin 1x3 BW+17.5kg (weight PR but missed 2 reps)

As of next week Im going to add reps to sets on stress day as Eric has described for Benches and squats.I know I will have to drop a bit of weight off the bar.Im hoping the volume increase is enough to get things going, my bench just aint movin really and squats are gettin heavy and I think sticking to the higher rep range with slightly less weight might allow me to get better quality reps with less chance of injury.Ya that squat scared me ok!

My thoughts on resetting the weights for Monday are as follows

My best 5x3 Bench 78.5kg and squat 5x3 98.5kg

Bench week1 5x4reps with 73.5kg
week2 5x5 73.5kg and then up the weight and work on 5x5 from there onwards.

Squat 5x4 with 93.5kg week1
Week 2 5x5 93.5kg
Week 3 add weight and work up from there

Eric, Jeff and anyone else, when you guys get the time does this look suitable?

Cheers HIThopper

damnit...that does suck. but hey:

1.) u got a PR on squats
2.) u didnt lose strength on bench inspite of such a shitty monday workout
3.) chins always suck balls so need to go there lol

dude a weight PR is a weight PR.

maybe u walked in with very high expectations. i try to drill this into my own head at times like these: progress comes in small- very small, packages.
