Yes and when they say zero it's still the same as a keto so you can have no more than 30g - If you have lot's of veggies ( spinach , lettuce ) then that fills you up with some carbs and fiber. But what makes it different is you have a carb load after your training ( ie: maltodextrin or wm )

On monday ill resume training, with things switched up a bit and a bit of abs, lower back work in, here it is

Monday
Squat 5x5
Bench 5x5
Rows 5x5
Pullthroughs 4x8

Wednesday
Squat 2x8 (50%)
Press 4x5
Chins 3xfailure
Ab pulldowns 4x8

Friday
Squat 1x5
Bench 1x5
Trapbar Deads 1x5

Assistance
Closegrip benches 2x8
Pull ups 3x failure
Dips 2xfailure

Ill see how this set up goes for a few weeks, I know its a bit aggresive with 4x5 presses on the light day,but as I have just come over from SS I want to see how far I can go with benching and pressing in the same week,
The last couple of press workouts I have missed a rep on the last 2 sets, I have been adding 1k a week, I have made some 1/4k weights so from now on ill probably add 1/2k a week.
Eventually ill probably alternate 5x5 presses with 5x5 benches on monday, light benches/presses wednesday, 1x5 presses/benches on friday.
If anyone wants to critique this set up, or thinks im going wrong somewhere please tell me

I don't have any critique per se. I would definitely be careful with the pressing...just in terms of overworking the shoulders.

This kind a thing has potential to bite you in the ass AFTER you've done the 5x5. Whether you add more volume as in hypertrophy work or move on to purer strength work.

I know longer recommend the whole "milk it for everything it is worth" approach, because, in my esperience with the 5x5 methods (and I have a LOT) that approach is making it worth just a bit more than it gives back. If not a whole lot more.

Use it until you are stale and move on! For the stage you are at is is good. But don't try to make it more than it is. And always remember that anytime that volume and counting reps, takes a back seat to quality (and intensity) there is a good oppurtunity for bad movement patterns to creep in.

And that is it for the "fatherly" advice .

Good luck on it!

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.

Thanks for the fatherly advice Eric very much appreciated
You say be careful with the pressing as not to overload the shoulders, so would it be a good idea to alternate pressing with benching weekly?
Also when its time to move on (when im stale) what would you reccomend?
Thanks

Enjoy that Monday workout J,Thats gonna leave you sorer than a 16 yr old prom queen at a frat party!!!!

I did probably that exact template (or very close) for a while, made good gains but Monday is hard,be forewarned LOL.Also I did much less reps on the squat on wed too.

E is correct (as usual) in that quality of work is much more important than just getting the sets and reps in,playing around with loading patterns when needed is key to this type of setup I believe.

Monday is hard, especially sets 4 and 5 , the last few weeks I was doing squats, benches, then chins 5x5, and 5x5 chins are difficult
Quality of work is everything im pretty happy with my form now with the squats and benches, I have found with the squats its how you get the bar positioned on your back what determines how good your form is, if that makes any sense.
Sometimes ill step out the rack and the bar doesnt feel quite right so instead of doing the set ill walk back in and reposition the bar.
As far as loading goes im going to shoot for 2k on squats, 2 1/2k on deads, 1-2k on the bench, 1-2 on rows and 1-1/2k on the presses, every week.
